‪A five star experience! I cannot recommend a course more highly. The fishing, the cooking, the eating, the wine, chef team, the Padstow Kitchen Garden and Jack made the whole two days perfect. I’ve had the most amazing birthday and made some great friends. The only down side was how full up I was!! I could hardly move by the time we had finished. But so very worth it. Thank you to everyone 🐟🐟🐟‬

‪Great day meeting likeminded people and excellent produce used for all the recipes. Skills learnt which will last a lifetime. Chef and staff were friendly, informative and it was all done with good humour and clarity.‬

‪Spent two days at the school - Mediterranean Cooking this time, having previously attended the two day fish course. Teaching was excellent - thanks to Nick and Aaron - and the support was great - thanks to Phil. Great company - 7 of us on the course and learnt loads as the chefs are very generous with their knowledge and tips. Looking forward to my next two days - would attend more often if I lived closer‬

‪This is the most amazing course. From booking, Harri was so helpful.. Nick, Aarran, Phil and Anthony were a real team!!

The tips and quality of teaching were first class, I learnt so much. Then we got to eat all our dishes with wine to pair.

I really can not recommend this course enough. I feel very lucky to have been gifted it. The other people on course really made it aswell.‬

‪I bought my husband this experience as part of his 60th birthday celebrations. I decided to join him as we both enjoy cooking, French food and loved watching Rick Stein’s French TV series’. We chose the Secret France day and were absolutely thrilled by our experience! Fantastic, helpful, fun and enthusiastic staff. Thank you Nick, Aaron, Phil, Michelle and the other staff members involved in making our day perfect and teaching us so much. The venue is fabulous and so well equipped as well as being immaculately clean. The ingredients we used were top quality, fresh and varied as was the wine we were provided, delicious! Our experience far outweighed our expectations and was excellent value for money. We actually felt that we were uncharged for what we experienced. It was also lovely so see that some of what we were able to prepare was actually also available on the Sea Food Restaurant menu; lobster risotto and the sea food gratin. We couldn’t have asked for our day to be more enjoyable than it was. Thank you so much!‬

‪Shellfish seafood school course for us. A great experience, very professionally run and organised. A fun & interesting thing to do and a great way to learn how to prepare and eat shell fish safely.
Fabulous little recipe folder to take away.
Shame you don’t get to keep the apron (which other schools - mentioning no names - do allow).‬

‪Fantastic experience cooking with one of Rick’s chef. Very accommodating staff allowing us to soft drinks and a gin instead of wine. Tasty food. Got to take our recipe cards home too. Learned how to fillet a fish too! Worked in pairs. Did the evening class.‬

‪I was extremely fortunate to have this bought as a gift. It was a truly memorable experience. Very hands on in a professional but friendly setting. The chefs were really friendly and helpful. I learned so much (and ate so much too!). I’m looking forward to trying out my new skills.‬

‪My wife bought me this as a wedding present and boy what an amazing experience it was!
Learnt so many new skills, got to cook some of Rick Steins signature dishes, eat them, learn what wines to pair with them.....and drink them. Good job the missus came to pick me up lol‬

‪What a brilliant day of cooking and eating! The course was taught by the head chef at the restaurant. He demonstrated rhe techniques at the same time as we prepared the dishes.All the tedious parts of cooking were handled by the cooks who prepared the mise en place, leaving us the egg, the half onion, the tablespoon of wine,the sprig of parsley and the weighed out and sifted 150g of flour, etc. Then when the dish is prepared, no washing up! Just the slicing and dicing,the chopping and the frying, the poaching and the simmering. We ate what we prepared, and a small portion of the dish as prepared by the head chef as he didemonstrated We prepared four dishes from the most recent Rick Stein book, Secret France. Good quality ingredients including fresh lobster and morel mushrooms, with lots of time, good instructions and the greatest convenience of just turning up and cooking without prepping or cleaning up.There is plentiful wine throughout the day, with soft drink alternatives.The food is delicious. The only downside is that 4 medium sized plates over 7 hours plus 5 taster plates is a lot to get through. Have a light breakfast and don't book dinner in the evening! Our group of 3 good to great home cooks learned 5 dishes we can readily reproduce and a handful of techniques and ideas that we can apply more widely for the rest of our cooking lives. The course was neither too basic or too advanced for us.If you can't fry garlic and onions until they are clear but not brown, this is not where you want to start. If you are wondering how to get your lobster foam to hold it's shape without being too stiff, please spare yourself the disappointment.‬
