Wonderful gardens set within the central town of Saffron Walden. If you have the time to get llost on several occasons then the maze is partularly good fun

Beautiful. Been here several times and it's just stunning no matter the weather. I cant wait to go back in the spring, such beautiful place for photos

Spectacular gardens, a jewel in the Crown of Saffron Walden. The Victorian kitchen garden with varieties of ancient apples, and other fruits and vegetables is a delight to wander around. There is also the walled decorative garden which is expertly maintained and the summer house and lawn area and rose garden. The maze is not always open to the public but we'll worth a visit when the gates are open - you can also request a visit by visiting the good guys and girls of SW Tourist Information Centre in thr Market Square.

We stumbled across this park and were pleasantly surprised by its compartment gardens. The hot summer has taken its toll but each area is well maintained and free of charge to wonder-round. There’s a little info room charting the garden’s origination and history.
Looking forward to a return visit.

The gardens include a maze, walled gardens with vegetables , fruit and flowers, a rose garden and other 'rooms' of gardens to explore. Adjacent is more of a park where you can have a football kickaround with the children, swings etc.

Take some food, take some friends - have a drink, have a laugh and enjoy your surroundings. Just don't drink too much as the toilets were closed when we were there.

Well restored gardens which are beautifully maintained. Quiet and peaceful and a lovely place to visit.

Well worth a short visit for 1-2 hours.
Pleasant gardens to walk around, including a maze, and very well maintained and presented.
Best of all it is free of charge (donations welcome) and only a short walk from the town centre.

Walking around Saffron Walden we found this beautiful garden. Extremely well kept and looking lovely even in March. What a lovely find so peaceful

Are you allowed to take dogs in the gardens

Yes, a lot of people walk their dogs in the gardens and in the park next door. ISTR there are some taps for watering the gardens from which you could get water for dogs too.
