The exhibits are expertly curated, the artists lived locally and produced a body of work that we found very interesting and the staff were quite simply charming and subject matter experts. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

The Gallery has a a small but very interesting collection of mid 20th century local artists, images and a style that I grew up with. There is a collection of excellent ceramics including a Graysons Perry piece. Free entry. Friendly, informative welcome and some nice cards and printed tea towels to buy.

What a lovely gallery! One large room, one medium-sized room and one small room presenting a wonderful overview of English 20th-Century art from this region of Essex - Bawden and Ravillious in particular (his "Iron Bridge" painting is lovely). It's all run by enthusiastic volunteers who are keen to communicate the story of the group. Apart from paintings and lithographs there's also a nice presentation of ceramics and commercial design. And it's free!!

A great small art gallery. The volunteers are really helpful and have lots of knowledge about the artists. Not to be missed on a visit to Saffron Walden

We enjoyed looking at the works on display and found the staff we encountered knowlegeable and friendly. We wish the gallery well and hope that it will be successful in its new larger accommodation

This is a charming and free small art gallery, focussing mainly on work by artists based in - or with strong connections to - nearby Great Bardfield. during the middle and the end of the 20th Century.
Staffed very largely by volunteers, it is open only on certain days and times- but the website is kept up to date to provide details.
As well as the permanent collection, there are regular themed exhibitions as well. All in all, well worth a visit (indeed, more than one!).

Bijou art gallery hidden away down a small alley way en route to one of the entrances to Bridge End gardens. The gallery often features work by local artists emanating from Great Bardfield, a nearby village. A pleasant way to while away half an hour.

Wonderful gallery always able to have a wide range of interesting stuff on display.
It is a home to the North West Essex collection of paintings and ceramics by artists of the 'Great Bardfield' group.
Lovely place to visit on a rainy day and not bad when the sun is shining too!
Always seems to have something new to see.

...some of the staff and effusive visitors would converse quietly and not consider themselves or their enquiries and declarations part of the exhibition to be shared with everyone else. Saturday 21st September 12:00ish.
Shall visit again and hope for a more peaceful less sonic experience.

A nice little art gallery in one of the best settings you could find, it's tucked in a delightful place down a walkway between old houses, works by local artists, there very good and very nice and knowledgeable staff.
