Arrived to no record of our booking that was made on the 15th of February, a month in advance! Told nothing could be done because it was raining and so therefore too miserable to ride. Meaning we had to simply turn round and drive another 30 minutes back to our lodge. Owner seemed more annoyed at coming out to speak to us in the rain than for wasting our time and was not apologetic in the slightest. As a stable manager myself I understand mistakes happen but the least you could do is apologise. The rain isn't to blame for the lack of organisation skills. In addition to this they advertise a small indoor school on their website but was told this doesnt exist on arrival. Really put a downer on our holiday!

We visited Lochill on the last day of our holiday in Scotland and it absolutely finished our trip off on a high. I took my 3 boys aged between 13 and 11 and my 74 year old mother, all complete beginners, I have been having riding lessons for about 6 months.
From the start the staff were really helpful, showing how to get the horse moving, how to stop, steer etc. We had an hours trek through beautiful countryside and felt safe and secure the whole time. Staff were friendly and chatty - the kids loved it and we all had a great time.
Would definitely visit again.

Lovely well mannered and behaved horses who enjoy a good gallop but have brakes! Helen assessed us all before we left the centre for our ride around fields, tracks and lanes. Aaron and I loved it!

I will not be going back to this centre due to poor customer service and an unfriendly host, I got a real sense of profit over customer service.

We had a fantastic experience on Thursday 30th December on our 1 hour pony trekking session. My husband, I and 2 friends booked it as part of our stay in Dumfries & Galloway.None of us had ridden before but we were well looked after by Helen & colleague. We all agreed afterwards that we loved it and would love to try it again. Very reasonable price and lovely people. I would highly recommend this as a brilliant way to spend an hou.

Had a great hour with the family during the October break. 2 adults and 2 children on lovely horses. Did a lovely trek around the nearby land, then back again, and a wee trott for each of us when we got back. A great adventure for the kids. We all loved it, especially as none of us had riden horses before. Felt really safe and would thoroughly recommend.

Went as a group of 2 families. All newbies and a bit nervous. Staff were really helpful and patient. One of the teens in our group nearly backed out due to nerves but they were so good with her that she actually did it and enjoyed it. Big thanks to Steph for that and being a great guide. Would really recommend trying a ride as we all loved it and it's perfect with it being off road.

Excellent. My nine-year-old twins and I had an hour session in the paddock and on a peaceful picturesque trek. My partner walked alongside us. Vicky led the twins' horses and was experienced, gentle, interested in what the kids had to say and interesting. We learned about the animals, their diet (more that an apple per day is too sugary for them) and how they cope with the horseflies and the heat. It was a magical experience.

I came to Lochhill for my first ride after having my daughter so was unfit and a little anxious. Helen was great at putting me at ease and Molly was a lovely horse to ride, leaving me excited about getting back into riding, pushed in a positive way and can't wait to go back.

My friend and I wanted to do something different with very little riding experience. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed a lesson and short hack. On our second visit today we had a great time. Lesson and short hack again and booked for next month would definitely recommend.

How much do you charge for a one hour trekking session? There would be 2 adults and 2 children (age 6 & 15) out 15 year old has riding experience but that’s all. Thanks
