Housed in a small former chaple, this museum gives a great insight into the history of Ullpool, from the Highland clearences, to the fishing boom of the 60s and 70s

Wonderfully preserved church designed by Thomas Telford to be mass produced/built. Gives the history of Ullapool, from crofting to fishing, with historic records upstairs for those wanting to do research.

Great wee museum and good value. They have made a real effort to make this museum child friendly with bits to appeal to a variety of ages. A great way to spend time on an inevitable wet day!

Great little museum, provided some interesting background of the area and the old church itself was very well maintained.
A range of exhibits including some more interactive for the children and some detailed achieves as well.
Worth a visit.

Visited there with my mama and uncle. It has gift shop and good bargain. I bought a Ullapool pen for a pound. It has couples of history book on stock. Friendly staff and £5 for an entry. It has a upstairs to watch screen about Ullapool and reading history area.

Well presented and informative without overloading you. Great range of interactive displays to cover children and adults. Great display of memorabilia and copies of original articles about emigration and local development. Beautiful building and little cemetery too

This is a lovely little museum that i found very informative. I have waited a long time to visit Ullapool and was disappointed to see that usually the museum is closed on a Sunday, the day of my visit, however i found it to be open when I arrived which i was so pleased about as i wanted to learn about Ullapool. The museum is in an old church building that still has the pews in places but is full of information on the history of Ullapool. I found that i had passed just over an hour by the time i had read everything but there is a reading area upstairs that i could have spent hours more looking at. There is a small area near the entrance where i purchased a short booklet on the history of Ullapool that was produced by the trust that looks after the museum. The young gentleman on the desk that day was very helpful as well so many thanks to him. The entrance cost was £5 but i felt that it was worth it as i found my visit very interesting and i learned a lot about the history of the area. I will certainly visit again if I visit Ullapool in the future

Thank You for your feedback. We accept that our advertising for our Sunday opening was not great as it was the first time we had been allowed to open on a Sunday. This year we are making a concerted effort to make sure our opening times are accurate.
I will pass your compliments on to the young man at the desk. We are very proud of our dedicated staff and volunteer team.

Brilliant experience. Full of local history, could have spent all day there. There is also a cinema screen showing many interesting stories of the history of Ullapool.

This is a lovely small museum house in a restored church building. The displays are well laid out and tell the story of the area which includes fishing and crofting. Ullapool Museum also contains genealogy records so you can search from your family history if they have links to the Lochbroom area. Unlike many larger museums Ullapool Museum has an activity area for children. Great place to visit.

A well presented local history museum. Interesting displays of local maritime and social history. Good accessibility for young visitors
