We combined our visit to the castle with a well spent hour in the escape room. Our group (ages 16-62) all had a fun and challenging time with a nice range of puzzles and challenges.
The rest of the castle is a fantastic history tour through several centuries of the site and it's development. All accessible and well presented in both English and Welsh.
We didn't have time to use the cafe but the menu and prices looked very good to us.
Well worth a visit.

Despite the fact we thought we couldn't find it - entrance is not obvious as you drive past - it was easy to get into once we knew where we were going. Entry fee is reasonable and there is a lot of history available about Cardigan and its surrounding area. There isn't actually much of the castle to see as such, a lot of walls and a few ancillary buildings. However, the House is a must see - it is beautifully restored with a lot of interest, and the two ladies on the top floor doing research are a mine of information!

Decent experience, dog friendly, although they charge for the dog, and only allowed in the grounds.

While it's a castle of huge importance to Welsh history and has been in use in one for or another for hundreds of years. I don't thing £7.50 each is good value for money. We were in and out in 20 mins.

Very disappointed, similar feelings to other contributors. Not a lot see and despite being so called dog friendly they charge £1 for the dog. Never ever had that happen before. If there had been somewhere else to go we would have turned away, and it’s not about the money,
You can’t take your dog into the cafe either so if it’s raining looks like you have to sit in the rain or go back to reception while you partner enters the house.
All in all disappointed

There is next to nothing to see here. We were in and out in 10 mins. Website photos show castle walls, but these are taken from outside. There is almost nothing remaining of what might have been a proper castle many moons ago inside those walls. Trip hazards on the kitchen garden paths and rusty old bikes hanging as features in the few rooms you can access in the main house. Don't waste your £7 visiting. Very poor.

This is probably only of interest to the Welsh as its not really a castle that you see, it's castle walls and a house! Definitely not worth £7. Also if you are going and want to go in the restaurant pre book a table, especially on a Sunday. We went and was told there were no tables free and should have pre booked! How were we expected to know about pre booking!

My partner and I were excited to return today (16/08) to visit the castle and to enjoy coffee and cake at the restaurant. Unfortunately we were turned away as they were only serving customers who were purchasing hot meals. We looked around and there was several tables empty (inside and outside) Surely the restaurant would like to take money from paying guests like ourselves than having empty tables. If this was the case there should be a sign as you approach the restaurant. Not a good experience!

Castle house has good exhibits and ghost story video. An enthusiastic historian was on hand to answer questions. Grounds peaceful and nice to relax in. Good views from the walls. Nice kitchen garden. I felt entry priced about right. 11&13y old and I spent 1-1.5h there fine.

All based on the Cafe. Staff superb, service superb, presentation superb. Castle superb. I had a coffee and just ONE piece of bread they called Welsh rarebit, (Rest was salad leaves) with a coffee, when I went to pay I nearly collapsed. The nice lady said £14. That was for one coffee, one piece of bread with cheese and a leafy salad. (Plus Pickle) Nothing else!! I am afraid that experience was enough to cancel out all the other great things that Cardigan Castle has to offer. I am a pensioner and you're never too old to learn. Check the menu first!

£5 per person. £6 with gift aid. There is a family ticket, i’m afraid I don’t know the cost.

Hello there,I am thinking of visiting Cardigan Castle with my mother who has mobility problems and can not walk far and I am concernd about parking as I can not see any disable parking close to the castle.Is there parking within the grounds of the Castle?

Sorry, there is no parking within the castle, but there is one disabled bay on the hill outside. Other disabled bays are about 300 metres away along the high street. The castle grounds has slopes that would make wheelchair use a bit tough. Car parks near the castle are at the foot of steep hills, and parking is often at a premium
