Seeing and learning about the history of Fishguard was amazing. The room showing the genealogy of people involved in the event was fascinating.

We stumbled upon the tapestry whilst on holiday....what a treat! Informative, funny and superbly designed. Our group was enchanted and marvelled at the skill of so many local people. Thank you Fishguard!

We made a special journey to Fishguard Guildhall specifically to see The Last Invasion Tapestry which story is of abiding interest to my companion who has read many accounts of the event when fisherwomen dressed in their usual red cloaks were mistaken for English soldiers! And it was breathtaking to see it in the flesh, so to speak! The painstaking patient work that's gone into it, all those stitches and clever needlework, are just amazing! The Guildhall itself is really nice with lots of items of interest to browse. Fishguard itself is very clean, very historic, with spectacular views, and I would love to go back again. Highly recommended.

The tapestry is housed in theTown Hall. There is access via a lift for those unable to walk or use a wheelchair. It is truly a remarkable piece of work and to think it very nearly ended up being moved elsewhere is unthinkable. The needlework is truly beautiful, creating texture and depth of colour. A must see!

This is an amazing work of art, very well displayed and absolutely wonderful.
We were staying in Gwbert and fishguard is short drive, the tapestry is in town square, guildhall.
Fishguard itself is lovely to wander round , very clean and pretty.

We made our visit immediately post-Covid, half expecting an enthusiastic reception as new-comers. Alas no, it was closed, the same as everything else, with few exceptions.

We had no idea this tapestry existed or the story behind it .The tapestry was much longer than expected. Beautiful work which is worth a visit.

The port is on the far side of the harbour, in Goodwick. The tapestry is at the top of the Fishguard town. You could walk it in about 30 minutes but it is up hill the last half distance. If you are reasonably mobile it’s fine, otherwise take the bus. Hope that helps.

The Tapestry is displayed in the Municipal Buildings in the centre of Fishguard, I understand the Building is open 10-5 Monday to Friday and 10-1 Saturdays.
