Our family of 3 embarked on this amazing 3 days 2 nights journey with Quechua Connection once we landed at Uyuni Airport. We have experienced the best English-speaking guide, Gonzales who is very knowledgeable and passionate about his country and his job. The driver cannot speak English, but he is an intelligent young man who knows his direction without GPS (please note that is no internet in Uyuni Salt Flats and nearby viccinity). To us, he's like an astrology and geoglogist who measures his distance and direction using the sun, stars, mountains and landscape throughout this trip. The 4 x 4 SUV seat 3 of us with 1 more Brazilian tourist comfortably along with the guide and the driver.
The list of attractions include but not limited to the following: Colchani Salt Flats, Train Graveyard, Giant Cactus at Pia Pia Island, Coral Valley, Ollague Voclano, over 5 Lakes of different colours due to minerals, Stone Tree, Geysers Manana, Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, Salvador Dali Desert, Red Lake Flamingos, San Cristobal village, etc. If you think these are the same attractions you would visit with other tour operators, then you should know it also includes the exclusive biking over salt flat (seriously it's only company that has bicycle for every guest), watching sunset with Bolivian wine & desert in the glaring white salt flat, stargazing at Polques Hot Spring (as this tour stayed at the hostel next to the hot spring), feedking wildlife such as desert fox and vizcacha (desert rabbits), picnic lunch with funny and memorable pictures at the Salt Flat. We enjoyed every moment on this tour with a total of 14 tourist usuing 3 4X4 vehicles. We made new friends with this international group because this tour was arranged with care and meticulous care.
Meals were prepared with attention, which we never repeated what we already have eaten. Please understand it's a remote desert environment with limited resources including food & water. It's well-planned with menu and abundable food & wine for everyone.
Accommodation is basic as you know it's remote desert. First night, we stayed at Tambo Loma Salt Hotel which has clean and spacious room and gave us a feast for dinner with so much food that was enough for another day. Little hiccup as our shower head was broken, which I recommend you should ask your guide for a different room immediately as other guests told us that their shower heads were working properly. Second day, we stayed at The Bricks/Ladrios Hostel which was the only negative experience during this entire trip. We were aware this is a hostel with basic amenities which were not the issue; however, the staff (mother with her family) were rude and provided poor service such as not willing to give us hot water (it was
0 degree Celsius that evening). The towels stinked as it seemed like they haven't dried completely. I was told that there should be hot water before 6pm; but not a nice surprise when I took the shower with cold water at sub zero temperature. No hair dryer in the entire hostal, so please rethink before you shampoo & shower! The best part of this hostel is the location because it's next to the hot spring where you can soak in the hot water, but please be aware it's outdoor & windy at night. We chose to stargaze instead and did not disappoint us with beautiful milky way pictures.
A highlight happened on our last day with our flat tire. It took less than 10 minutes for our drivers to replace with new tires, such a fast pit stop!!! It is the safest tour company to join as they usually have 3 vehicles running together, so they help each other if anything happens. Another tour told us that they had terrible experience with their vehicle without headlights and side mirrors which can be dangerous. Quechua's vehicles are serviced regularly to make sure the engine, the brakes and other parts are in good conditions before the tour starts.
We were so contented with Quechua that we joined optional tour the last morning before our flight. We saw the magnificent sunrise and took beautiful reflection pictures and videos over the salt flat which we cherish for the rest of our life. I have to say I can now check off Uyuni from my bucket list with 100 points by joining Quechua Connection!

The communication with the company was very poor. They took very long time to reply back. And many times it was me messaging many times before getting a reply.
When we went to the office one day before the trip, the staff wasn't aware about our next day reservation.
The tour experience was amazing. The places, the views and the guide.
But dealing with quechua connection as a company was bad experience

José was our guide and gave us the most spectacular experience. He constantly took us to places where there were less people, was really knowledgeable about the area and was just a hilarious heartwarming guy.
The places we stayed in were all brilliant, fairly basic but you’re in the middle of nowhere!!! José made this trip for us, couldn’t recommend highly enough

We booked the 3D 2N tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats and were not disappointed. Omar is simply the best guide and driver. He is super considerate and really thinks of everything. He always made sure we found the best place for photos, prepared our food and often asked how we were doing. On the first evening he conjured up a bottle of wine at sunset and gave us a truly unique experience. He always drove sensibly and did not attempt any risky overtaking maneuvers. Since we were traveling in the rainy season, we saw wonderful reflections on the salt flats. The disadvantage of the rainy season is that some places are skipped. This did not bother us and it was also communicated in advance.
We chose vegetarian food and were surprised that we actually got an alternative to meat. There was breaded eggplant, zucchini and even soy burgers. There was always enough fresh food.
We spent the first night in a great hotel in Uyuni. The food was delicious, the beds comfortable and the shower hot and big.
On the second day we were able to see llamas, marvel at gigantic mountains, discover geysers and explore great lagoons with flamingos. The second day ended at the hot springs and we were able to enjoy the sunset from the pool. The second accommodation is very basic and the toilets definitely need to be repaired. The whole group (6 people) was accommodated in a dormitory that smelled strongly of petrol. We still had a good time.
On the last day we set off early so that those continuing on to the Chilean border would be on time. There were two more stops on the way. The first in the Salvador Dali desert and the second at the green lagoon. We drove back to Uyuni and had a good lunch and a great stop in a canyon with hundreds of llamas. We arrived safely in Uyuni around 6 p.m.
In brief
+ great guide and driver (didn't drink a drop of alcohol, not even after work)
+ great vegetarian food (nobody had stomach problems, not even those who had meat)
+ incredible landscapes
+ beautiful accommodation on the first night
- communication with Quechua Connection was a bit difficult beforehand
- second accommodation urgently needs to repair toilets
Despite the few negative points, this was the best tour we have done so far and we can recommend Quechua Connection with a clear conscience!

We had 4D/3N tour, Jeaneth was such a nice guide, she went out of the way to make the tour as good as possible, as well as the driver whose name I don't remember. The views were amazing and the photos that Jeaneth did were so cool!
The negative part is 1) The car, because sitting in the back is painful for legs as there is no space, cause you are practically sitting in a trunk. 2) The ho(s)tels and bathrooms - only one night was comfortable. The last night was in a shared stinky room and the toilets were clogged so we went to the only one working men's bathroom. 3) 3 out of 5 people got bacteria or something after the trip - needed to heal with antibiotics. But people are saying that it is usual to get poisoned after visiting Bolivia so just bear that in mind.
But it was still worth it because the views were breathtaking, especially Salt Flat!
Also, bear in mind, that all the bathrooms along the trip cost 2-5 bolivianos, they are not free.

It was a really great tour through the desert! Omar put a lot of effort into it and showed us a lot! Sunset in the Salar de Uyuni with reflections and also saw lots of animals.
One star deducted because the food was unfortunately not always freshly cooked but was already prepared in the morning so the meat was often dry. The first night in the salt hotel is also overrated and the food here wasn't the best.
But the tour alone was a great experience.

Our 2 nights/ 3 days salt desert tour was amazing 🤩
Gonzales was the best tour guide. He explained everything very well and was just a cool guy to hang out with.
The landscape was beautiful and Gonzales + our driver put a lot of effort in taking the best pictures/videos of us.
The food was very delicious.
I can just recommend this tour to everyone! ☺️

I did the 3-day Uyuni salt flat route with Marie (guide) and Louis (driver). It was a really cool experience.
Marie knew a lot about the salt flats, the minerals, history of the area, the volcanoes, flora and fauna. Louis was a very calm and controlled driver who also had a secret talent for photography.
A highly recommended duo who are prepared for any situation.

Is it possible to store your backpack at Quechua Connection's office in Uyuni for 3 days while you are on the tour?
كُتب بتاريخ 21 يناير 2020
Yes. We did and it was fine. However it’s best to lock your luggage or don’t leave valuables in it. The bags are kept in a room next to the ticket office. This is kept locked but other travellers can wait in here while they wait for their tour to start.

I don't think so. They drop off people there. But you can call and check with them. Or even message them on WhatsApp.
