‪What an amazing experience, explored the mangroves on the boat and met some of the most inspirational heroes who have worked hard in educating the local and the world about how important mangroves are for us and the planet. We met Pak Agus and his friends. Wow...I am super impressed to his substantial knowledge about Mangroves in general and how genuine he is in trying to protect the mangroves here.

These guys are super heroes...feel really grateful to meet them and hearing their stories 💚🌏

We saw a few proboscis monkeys out and about. ‬

‪If u wanna see beautifull bekantan jumping from one tree to another tree so come n see the mangrove center of balikpapan...so beautifull sight seeing...seems like in small amazone river...not too far from the city its inside of the housing complex ut very beutifull inside...‬

‪To-Do in Balikpapan‬

‪Astonishing mangrove forest which is managed and self-funded by local community at Graha Indah, Balikpapan. I was impressed by the calibre of the air in the forest - it was fresh and cooling you down from the heat of the city. I met Bapak Agus Bei - the founder of the forest and got new knowledge about mangrove and Bekantan from both Bapak Agus Bei and Bapak Herman - my skipper.
I would say it is a To-Do in Balikpapan. To support the local community and to support maintaining mangrove and Bekantan.‬

‪Hutan bak Taman‬

‪Tidak terbayangkan ada hutan di sekitar perumahan. Tempatnya sangat asri dan tertata dengan rapi. Mudah dijangkau dengan kendaraan pribadi maupun transportasi berbasis online. Baik mobil maupun sepeda motor. Di tempat ini, suasana yang ada selalu terasa pagi. Sejuk meski diluaran sedang panas terik. Di tempat yang luasannya hektar ini, wisatawan dapat menikmatinya dengan berkeliling menyewa perahu motor. Dengan harga kurang lebih Rp 300.000,-an ribu, enam sampai delapan penumpang dapat berwisata bersama.‬

‪Failed to see Bekantan, they usually showed up very early in the morning and 3 pm in thr afternoon. We went there about 9.30 am - 11 am. The children (we went there to guide elementary students to explore) got a good explanation about plants and animals in mangrove area.‬

‪enjoying the boat in the forest‬

‪Located in Gg. mangrove VI Graha Indah Residence, you can reach from Balikpapan to Samarinda road km 5. Turn left and keep the road until you find Graha Indah Residence 2. rent a boat price is Rp. 300.000 for max 6 people. The trip will take around 1hour. You'd better come in the morning or afternoon around 2-5 pm before sunset. Low tide usually around 11-13 pm, and the boat can not be used. Contact person : Pak Agus (081350371500)‬

‪mangrove forest in Graha Indah turned out to be very large, visitors can get around the forest by renting a boat with approximately 1 hour, we will find typical Kalimantan animals namely "Bekantan” a kind of monkey but a long-nosed icon that becomes the icon Ancol Jakarta.‬
