Very good informative museum and memorial to those who perished. Good insight to how a tsunami is formed and the devastating affects when reaching land. Very good animated video of how the ship moved from the harbour to where it now sits. Lots of before and after areal shots can be seen. Well worth a visit

ini adalah saksi sejarah bencana tsunami di aceh, dimana kapal PLTD yang digunakan untuk memback up power listrik di sekitar aceh terbawa arus tsunami sampai 5 kilometer dan terdampar didaratan. lokasi ini sudah dikelola oleh pemda Aceh sehingga lebih terawat. tidak ada uang tiket masuk, namun ada kotak sumbangan sukarela.

There are some silent witnesses of the Aceh tsunami 26 December 2004, and this place is one of the most amazing. A large floating power plant was washed away by the tsunami from the seaside up to 5 KM inland. Government changed this ship become a museum and we can find the story about the ship and the tsunami inside this museum. In the museum complex, there were some remnants of the ruins of houses destroyed by the tsunami.

Objek yang bikin haru, takjub dan sedih.
Sekarang sudah dikelola dengan baik oleh Pemda. Sehingga sangat cocok untuk dijadikan tempat kunjungan wisata wajib jika berkunjung ke Banda Aceh.

Hier muss man wohl nichts mehr zu schreiben. Wenn eben möglich, auf dem Weg zur Fähre oder sonst wie, auf jeden Fall einen Abstecher einplanen.

Datanglah di luar waktu sholat karena tepat ini tutup ketika waktu awal sholat dzuhur dan ashar. Sebaiknya memakai celana (utk wanita) karena angin di atas kapal cukup kencang. Jangan lupa pakai sunblock karena panas di Banda Aceh cukup terik

After Museum Tsunami, took a grab to Apung 1 and it is really huge and easy to be seen. Basically, Apung 1 has destroyed the villagers houses and too heavy to be relocated after post-tsunami.
There is no entrance fees but there will be a donation box place on your own way out. Outside of this place, few shops available that selling souvenirs and some drinks.
I would recommend to visit this place but it is quite tiring for elderly and kids. Plus, it is warm inside it. The details are splendid and well described. I like it so much.
I also learned on the myth of Tsunami from the previous generation which also shared here. The information itself is comprehensive,even much better from Tsunami Museum

Datengin PLTD Apung 1 bikin tau gimana dahsyatnya tsunami yang terjadi di 2004 kemarin. Museum ini adalah bekas kapal PLTD PLN yang kebawa arus sampe nimpa rumah warga.
