Prophet Shoaib, also known as Jethro or Shuayb, is a significant figure in Islam. The Maqam (shrine) of Prophet Shuaib is a religious site situated in the southern region of Al-Salt in Jordan. It’s a mosque and shrine. Went for Friday Pray and visited the shrine. Mosque is so big and has a separate section for females. Ablution area in the middle. The Maqam or the Shrine (Tomb) is so huge which reflects that during that period they used to be so tall and huge.

This shrine was a great find! We stumbled upon it when we took a wrong turn getting to the border crossing. It is hidden up a mountain off of route 437. Prophet Shoaib is one of the few Arabian prophets to be named in the Quran. This is one of a couple of tombs claimed to be associated with the prophet (another is in Syria). The shrine and adjacent mosque is quaint and simple.
The grounds are beautiful as are the views looking west. You can sit outside and bask in the views and bring a packed lunch; it is really gorgeous. As corny as this sounds there is a really nice lime tree situated in the center courtyard outside. The gentleman tending to the mosque will pick a lime for you to take with you. There are two rooms for both sexes to pray in the mosque as well as clean facilities to perform Wudu. If you do not intend to enter the mosque, you can go into the shrine and take photos. The caretaker will provide women with a veil/covering for your head and shoulders.
The site is free of charge but I would recommend tipping the caretaker.

The shrine is situated inside the mosque compound. There is a separating room that guards the shrine. The place is also very clean with amazing views.

Visiting Valley of Shuayb, having a nice view of the terrace gardens in the mountains and of course, saying prayers at the mosque adjacent to the shrine of Prophet Shuayb (peace be upon him) was a great day out from Amman.
Traveling through the Al-Salt city and having a very nice view of the gardens created on terraces on the mountain side is a great side and it seems people have not wasted even a foot space if it were available.
Visit to the shrine of Prophet Shuayb (pbuh) was the highlight of the show. We prayed for the messenger of Allah.... the place had something about it. It was so calm, serine and peaceful.
There are not many restaurants close to the tomb area so take your things along if you intend staying there for long

Visited today the shrine of Prophet Shoaib. A quite simple place yet historical. Jordan is full of history and you can find many holy Prophets, Sahaba buried here. A very quiet and peaceful place, quite green closeby. There is a mosque attached to it as well.

It's nice to visit. Especially for the moslems, because there is a nice and clean mosque to pray, next to the Shuaib shrine (tomb).
