Dieser unterirdisch gelegene Tempel ist dem Gott Shiva geweiht. Wenn man in das Innere des Tempels gelangen möchte, muss man knapp einen Meter durch Wasser waten und kommt dann in die Kammer, in der sich eine Skulptur des Nandi, des Tragtiers von Shiva befindet. Hier ist es etwas duster.

Prasanna virupaksha temple, also known as underground shiva temple is in the royal enclosure in hampi. There is no shivlinga in the temple currently. There is also a mandapa in the temple complex which is very beautiful.

This is in a nice court yard and is called underground because the temple is below ground level. Therefore, is prone for rain water to get in. Must ASI / agencies should ensure this is maintained by clearing all the muck that is there inside the temple complex. Currently it is left to elements and can see bats flying all over inside the temple. Hope the ASI takes over this and ensure this is maintained because the structure as such is beautiful

You have to visit in the non-monsoon season to visit this temple, as it remains submerged in rainwater during the rainy seasons.

Sri Prasanna Virupaksha Temple is also known as Underground Shiva Temple because when it was excavated it was completed underground. I visited it during Monsoons and mostly the temple was submerged with water.

We went in December after the rains and it was dry, except for some stinky smelly foul puddles of stagnate water. People were taking off their shoes but I didn't think it was necessary, as the idol inside was damaged.

Ce temple dédié à Shiva est vraiment particulier. Au fur et à mesure qu'on descend depuis l'entrée par niveau on commence à deviner le temple qui se trouve en bas à gauche.
Nous étions à la fin de la saison sèche, mais il y avait de l'eau dans le temple, de quoi arriver à mi-mollet. C'est très étonnant
Il y a un magnifique Nandi, mais le sanctuaire est maintenant vide au fond
On pense que l'eau vient d'une rivière prochaine via un petit canal.
L'architecture est dépouillée mais harmonieuse. Pas d'imposantes sculptures ici.

This a ‘recent’ temple discovery Silva linga permanently under water and you have to walk down and through water to find in the darkness ..... go towards end of seeing all others so you can cool your feet as well as experience a different temple.

Good to see but not a must-see. Its dark and cool out there. Like most of the temples in Hampi, no worshiping is done here.

地元民曰く、「半地下」寺院とのこと。ここまで来る人はほとんどいないらしく、静かにゆっくり見学できた。寺院の周りに水が流れるように設計されていると思ったが、生活用水が流れ込んできているだけとか。
