There are two monolithic Ganesha idols in Hampi: the smaller one (the Sasivekalu Ganesha) is called the ‘mustard Ganesh’, because it’s smaller; the larger one is the Kadalekalu Ganesha, or the ‘peanut Ganesha’ (because peanuts are larger than mustard seeds)
Unlike the mustard Ganesha, this one is housed inside a temple that is actually still a living temple. High pillars form a sort of porch to it, with a terrace (the view from here—massive boulders, ruins, and so on—is impressive). Since this is a functioning temple, if you wish to go inside and see the Ganesha up close, you’ll need to take off your footwear and leave it outside. You can actually get a fairly good view of the monolith from the outside, so entering isn’t really necessary.
No entry fees apply here
Situated on the slope of the Hemakuta Hill one can have a real mesmerizing and picturesque view of Hampi Bazaar and Matanga Hill. The Kadalekalu Ganesha sculpture is a very huge statue, approximately 15 feet in height.
For a detailed itinerary of a 7-Day trip to Hampi, Aihole, Pattadakal, Badami & Jog Falls near Shimoga from Bangalore, feel free to visit the Links tab on my profile on TripAdvisor.

This temple contains a large stone statue of Ganesha. The belly of Ganesha is in form of a black gram (Kadalekalu). The statue is located inside an open room like structure.

The Kadalekalu Ganesha is another Ganesh temple to complement the Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple, which is not far from this. This temple also has a giant monolithic sculpture of the elephant headed god Ganesh.
Well worth taking the time to see this for the sheer size of the statue and it’s its location with all the main buildings of the Hampi archeological complex.

This place famous bollywood movie Guru has been shot. Famous Indian dance Hema mailini has performed. The temple is ruins at the top where you have hilltop picture square pics in sunrise and at sunset. The mughal's tried to destroyed everything but since its carved out of pure rock ,was not able to do it completely and hence ruins but still worth watching how behemoth structures these are.

Hampi is unnaturally minimalist. And this is an example of the minimalism and the exuberance. Abode of the Elephant God.

Questa parte del sito archeologico si trova di fronte al Virupaksha Temple, è un colonnato della Bazaar Street quando era piena di pellegrini che vendevano le merci. All'interno vi è la statua di Ganesha.

Out of the 2 Ganesha idols, this one is the larger one and was only for the King and his special guests in ancient times.

I went to Kadalekalu Ganesh. Kadalekalu Ganesh is an important religious attraction in Hampi. The temple has traditional stone architecture and is located on Hemakuta Hill and has a huge 15 feet monolithic statue of Lord Ganesha which is a believed to be one of the largest in the world. It is great place to go.
