We stop here every time we visit the park. The best place to eat and shop. Always get great service from the friendly staff in the restaurant. Even the old guy cleaning the parking lot is super friendly. The food is better than expected for a provincial park. Prices are in line with other stores but the quality is better than other parks. We eat, shop and rent bikes every year and LOVE THIS PLACE !!! Keep up the good work!

This store is excellent for souvenirs, some required camping equipment, and food basics, such as milk, bread, peanut butter, etc. While tent camping we went there often. When they didn't have what we needed, they kindly referred us to bigger grocery stores just outside either end of Algonquin Park. The staff is uniformly courteous and helpful (see example below).
This store is not big on fresh produce. Maybe a stray apple or tomato. If this is a major part of your diet, it might not have what you want. This is the single reason that I did not give it a five rating. However, one day when I was desperate to purchase lettuce, Gary (who I took to be the owner or manager) went next door to the adjacent restaurant and, voila, had romaine lettuce for me in a zippy which I purchased at a reasonable price. I appreciated his responsiveness to my concern very much.
One nice feature of the store is a whiteboard at the entrance where you can list your sightings of wildlife. We checked that out every day. Another feature that we liked was the outdoor gathering place where people from the restaurant took their meals and where tailgaters like us were able to picnic. We found that we liked being around people after the more solitary experience of hiking and this was a perfect solution. Always lots of campers and tourists.

The trail from Lake of Two Rivers to Rock Lake was beautiful and interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful. When two of our group took 15 minutes to return after the deadline staff were lenient. The only negative was my husband’s bike chain coming off 2 km from the end. We recommend the bike rental and staff at Lake of Two Rivers.

We rented three bikes from Algonquin Outfitters in July 2021. All three were newer models and of good quality.
The bikes were waiting for us as we booked on line and we were on our way in no time.
Great customer service and flexibility in accommodating last minute changes.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Our bike rentals to explore Algonquin Park's Old Railway Bike Trail and other local areas is always popular. We maintain our bikes right at the store and have a full-service bike shop for major repairs in Huntsville. Most of our rental bikes are sold after 2 seasons and new ones are always being added. Thanks for letting us know you had a great experience. Hope to see you back again soon.

Great store they basically have every thing you need in a pinch from cooking supplies to air mattress to tarps food clothing souvenirs ice most any camping need a little bit more money but to be expected but then again always having sales on said items....if your camping on the hwy 60 corridor this store is a must

Thanks for your review Danny, we hope we can always be there in a pinch for our customers. One thing I would like to note is we do have a price match guarantee on all the camping supplies etc we sell. Just not food/grocheries as there is an extra cost to making those items availabe in such a remote location. Another thing you may not be aware of is a percentage from every sale goes to support our park. Hope to see you back again soon when we can open up again.

투리버스 호수가 워낙 유명해 그 곳으로 달리던 중 간판을 보고 들어갔는데 호수는 안 보였습니다. 매점 같은 게 보이던데요... 동쪽으로 조금만 더 가면 투리버스가 멋진 모습을 드러냅니다. 실망하시지 말고 조금만 더 달리세요.

I'm assuming you are referring to the fall colours in Algonquin Park. We have a map of some of the best places to see fall colours in Algonquin Park on our website and the Algonquin Park website publishes the status of the fall colours. I'm not sure by your comment how we could have rated higher than 3 stars though, did you come into our store and look around, maybe stop for something to eat or some dessert or ice cream?

There is a great little restaurants here, and the store stocks all kinds of things for camping. Friendly staff!

Thanks you for your review Mara. We try to carry lots of camping gear and souvenirs, and the restaurant has lots of options at some of the lowest prices in Algonquin Park. If you have time you can also rent some bikes to ride the Old Railway Bike Trail that's right at our store too. Hope to see you back again soon.

Went to Algonquin Outfitters this weekend to rent a bike and enjoy the Old Rail Trail with my friends. My friends were okay with their bikes but, unfortunately, it just wasn't working for me. I asked for some help and Dawson came to the rescue. Dawson did everything he could to adjust this bike to suit me. He was so delightful to deal with that I soon forgot that I may not be able to enjoy cycling that day. Algonquin Outfitters sure hit the jackpot when they hired him. Thank you so much. Nancy

We’ve been to Algonquin Park many times but not since 2011. Then, Lake of Two Rivers store was not anything to stop for. Any groceries you needed, you were better off heading to Huntsville or Whitney.
We passed through the park this week and we’re very surprised at how the store has changed. Now run in part with Algonquin Outfitters, there’s a souvenir shop and great restaurant. The food and value are amazing considering being 45 mins. from the closest town. Great portions and friendly people.
If you’re looking for a little civilization while roughing it this is the place.
If you’re deciding on a meal or even just an ice cream, at either Lake of Two Rivers or the Visitors Centre choose Lake of Two Rivers!!!

Heather / Rob thank you for the great review. Sometimes we forget how much has changed in the few short years that we've been operating the Lake of Two Rivers Store. It's a great place to visit now as you pointed out, there's always something to do; browse the souvenirs, pick up a few supplies, grab a bite to eat at the cafe or even borrow one of our rental bikes and explore the Old Railway Bike Trail right form our Lake of Two Rivers Store.

I was camping at Coon Lake campground in Algonquin park for May long weekend this year. The Lake of Two Rivers Store and Cafe is about 15 minutes down the road. On our first night there, I received word from my family that my grandfather was unwell but my phone died overnight and I was unable to contact them to find out more information/if he had passed. Knowing that the store was close by, my girlfriend and I drove over the next morning so I could charge my phone and make a call back to my family. We went in bought coffee, tea, and a muffin and sat down at a table next to an electrical outlet. We sat for 5 minutes before the server came over and rudely told us that using their electricity was not allowed. I said okay but explained my situation and asked her if there was anyway I could keep my phone plugged in to make one call to confirm whether or not my grandfather had died. She said she would have to get the manager and did so. He came over and explained that they don't allow it because **insert incoherent/incorrect/asinine sentence about using an electrical outlet to charge a phone**. Like the server before him, he was rude, dismissive, and completely inconsiderate of my situation. We left and drove to the Portage Store where they graciously allowed me to charge my phone and make a call. My grandfather had passed away. My experience at the Lake of Two Rivers Store was confusing and ridiculous; all other matters aside, their dark coffee more closely resembles a lukewarm cup of water. I would recommend the Portage Store to anyone travelling this route.

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandfather, Braeden, and deeply apologize for the response you received from our Lake of Two Rivers staff and manager. I too would have expected more understanding in this situation.
We do have a store phone that I would have offered to let you use to contact your family and there's also a pay phone in the parking lot. I've on several occasions let people use my personal cell phone to make emergency calls too. I would like to bring this to the attention of not just the store manager again, but also to our company owner.
Could you please respond with an email to marketing@algonquinoutfitters.com so I might be able to contact you directly and reply with what changes we have made.

Breaden I wanted to take a minute to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We read each and every review posted online and sometimes they change things as a response. Since replying to your review we have looked into purchasing a cell phone charging station for the store so people can top up their cell phone charge while visiting the Lake of Two River Store, Cafe and Grill. Although it hasn't been installed yet we expect to have it available sometime in the summer of 2018. We are also going to provide this service for free to anyone visiting our restaurant for breakfast, lunch of dinner.
I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience so that we might better serve our clients.

can you park a car there for a few hours to ride rail trail
can use a picnic table to have lunch including if you have your own

Yes you can park here or near by to rent a bike and ride the Old Railway Bike Trail. If you have your own bike there’s lots of available parking at Mew Lake Campground. Day use park passes are always required.

Hello,
We want to visit the park this summer with our 8 years old son. Although we use our bikes a lot in our daily life in Amsterdam, we have never tried mountain bikes and I am not sure if my son can handle that long trail, (32 km in total?). Do you have any solution with families? Regards. Yasemin

Good day yas11. The nice thing about the Old Railway Trail is that it's an out and back trail. Almost no one tackles the whole 32km. You can ride as much or as little as you would like with your son.
