Great trail although a bit haphazard in its path at times wonderful flowed and cacti and views. Very windy on our day. Water crossings a bit unstable. Good walk

GORGEOUS hike in late March with the creek flowing and wildflowers blooming in literally every color of the rainbow. It was amazing. The main trail up to palm canyon was the best. Flowers everywhere - even the air was scented. Coming back we chose the Alternate Trail, to make the loop. This took us up and out into a cactus area, which was cool, but I wish we had stayed on the main trail (as an out-and-back) to re-experience the colorful cacophony of flowers along the river.
We did have to cross the water a few times and our shoes got wet. Wear sport sandals if you have them.

Une randonnée à faire pour voir les magnifiques palmiers. Une bonne petite marche où on arrive à une merveille, le jardin des palmiers endémiques d'Anza Borrego.

Selon les informations locales que j'ai pu obtenir, l'oasis de palmiers a brulé en 2019 et afin de préserver la reprise des palmiers la balade est fermée.
Je suis allé à Anza Borrego en Avril 2022 mais je n'ai pas tenté d'approche vu l'interdiction.

Pay the Park fee and set off on a beautiful hike into Palm Canyon, which offers varied terrain, magnificent views and some challenges along the way. The lower portion is open and gradual, becoming more difficult as you approach the palms, but worth it indeed for the topography, plants, birds and lovely people along the way. TAKE LOTS OF WATER AND WEAR GOOD SHOES!

We loved the variety on this trail - interesting geology, plant life and varied terrain taking us through washes and up stone terraces. Trail well marked except a bit confusing around the middle. Elevation rise is more pronounced toward the end as the canyon narrows. Map says this is a 1.5-mi trail, but I think it's closer to 2 mi with a 525-ft gradual elevation rise. You may be tired and hot, but stick with it - the oasis is stunning and so worth the trip. We did not climb over the boulders to get to the very end, instead stopping as soon as we reached the water and magnificent palm trees. You're not supposed to get in the water so we hopped over it and found a smooth boulder to sit on and rest as we listened to the water burbling. Take at least 1 litre of water per person!

Great hike. Challenging but not too hard. Beautiful views and the palm trees at the end of the hike were amazing. I would definitely go back to hike this trail.

This particular spot was part of our first adventure hike. It was amazing, breathtaking, and exciting. The best part was the bighorn sheep. They are not shy and must love the camera. It was the first time I have been this close to them
Then we ventured to the palm tree oasis another area of beauty and interest. It was truly a great 1st stop adventure for us. Definitely, a return spot to explore especially in the evening. Gorgeous view of the stars.

This was our second favorite hike after the Slot Canyon. The hike is rather easy with some pretty scenery, especially when the canyon starts to narrow. There is a palm grove at the end of the trail, but we didn't see any water. Note that there are parts of the hike that may be challenging for some - for example, in one area there were approx 40 steps made out of rocks that may be difficult if you have problems with stairs. But other than that, it was a pretty simple, pretty hike. You can go in and out on that same trail or you can take the path marked 'Alternate Path' on the way back. The Alternate Path is a little more challenging, since it is more along the side of the canyon. We were told that Palm Canyon is the most likely place to see the Bighorn Sheep so we were stopped constantly to look up on top of the canyon walls. So, we were very surprised when we spotted two Bighorn sheep on the bottom of the canyon right next to the path, just 5-7 minutes from the parking lot! That was a nice treat! Note that there were quite a few people/families on the main hike, and almost no one on the Alternate Path. Also, unlike other hikes we went on, this one was very well marked.

We were excited to see some waterfalls. Everybody said it was worthwhile.
The hike took an hour. We had fun going to the mountain.
Once we were close to the waterfall, several people run away from us.
All I heard: "There is a fire in the mountain. Don't go.
A plane was asked to extinguish the fire.
We had no choice to go down, but we were safe.
We had a great experience, however, I missed the waterfall.
It seems that someone had put fire through his cigarettes.
We were unable to see the waterfall. However, we prefer that we were safe.
Worthwhile to see.
Next time I hope to come back.
Once we were at the parking, there were lots of firefighters.
We will remember this experience!
