‪On a roadtrip across SoCal we stopped at Chino to visit the Yanks Air Museum.
I have been to many aviation museums across the world but this one really stands out. It consists of three main hangars and an incredible outside „boneyard, where one can wander around many many hulls and complete airframes of all kind of airframes next to the fence of Chino airport. I was there for only a mere 2 hours, but I actually could spend days there.
The museum shop is also excellent, I highly recommend a visit to almost everyone with the slightest interest in aviation !!‬

‪One of the best aviation museums that I have ever visited. A superb collection of aircraft on display under cover. But make sure that you visit the outdoor storage yard where there are even more gems to see. A must go to visit if you are an aviation enthusiast.‬

‪Visited midweek so it was quiet. It has many exhibits and especially the WW2 aircraft. Enjoyed the whole experience. The restoration area has many projects ongoing and will keep them busy for years. The boneyard area outside is dry, hot and dusty. It is also littered with dog feces so watch your step. Nice gift shop.‬

Jimmy, that is So Cal for you in September. The County has promised us asphalt for several years and we are hoping this summer will be the install. The yard has been scoured for any animal droppings and we will keep a sharp eye. The boneyard has many types of animals from the airport that all try to make Yanks their home. We hope you will visit again when the weather is nicer.

‪It’s a really nice and clean museum! Some of the aircraft are flight ready! A good variety of both civilian and military aircraft. Hopefully the open cockpits on the third Saturdays of the month will come back soon! ‬

‪One of the best aviation museums I've ever been to, knowledgeable & friendly staff really help too. The storage yard is a joy to walk round. Big thanks go out to David in the restoration area for the chat and information on several items.‬

‪This is an amazing collection of American planes, both civil and military! The collection begins at the beginning of aviation history with a replica of the Wright brothers’ plane on down to a Blue Angel jet and drones. Nearly all of the planes were restored to “flyable” condition and each plane has detailed information about its specifications, manufacturer, year, etc. don’t forget to look overhead because there are planes suspended from the ceiling. There also were informative placards about the major players in aviation history such as Grumman, Bell Systems, etc. we were mesmerized and spent 2+ hrs. there. If you go during the winter, take a jacket because the hangars are not heated.

For fellow aviators: We flew into Chino Airport and parked there. It’s an easy 3/4 mi. walk to the museum from there. Look for the pedestrian walk-thru between the Quonset hangars, rows 2 and 3 to get outside the security fence that surrounds the airport. Gate has a code to get back in.‬

‪There's much more here than meets the eye.

I think this museum is overshadowed, unfortunately, by Planes of Fame, next door. This one is well worth the visit in its own right and there is more here than you might otherwise realize.

We stopped by on a Friday about Noon and pretty much had the place to ourselves for a an hour or two. The staff here is nice and helpful. You enter through the gift shop (a really nice one) and there are two hangers, a restoration section, and the "boneyard" that you can wander through. The planes are kept is really nice condition, several fully restored.

I really appreciated the opportunity to walk through the restoration hanger and watch the staff work on the planes (or partial planes). It's amazing to see the care and workmanship these folks are putting into the rebuilds. The boneyard is pretty interesting as well.

As you tour the hangers stop and read the plaques for the planes. Each one has a story to tell making the history of the exhibit come alive.

We took about two to two and half hours to see the museum. Parking is easy and the restrooms are clean.

Don't skip this one!‬

‪A large, beautiful collection of our earliest and best military and even a few civilian planes. Some are beautifully restored and many are actually ready to fly. There are even a few copies of historical planes (a Wright Flyer is accurate down to the last screw and glue joint.‬

‪This place is a lot of fun with many, many old planes, most well preserved, although a lot in in the process of being restored. IT is almost right beside the "Planes" museum and you should NOT go to one without see the other. It cost a couple dollars more and it is ot quite as good, but that is quibbling. If the other weren't there, I would just be raving about this one.‬
