Date of Visit: Saturday, Dec 14th, 2019
As lovers of cryptozoology, upon learning there was a Bigfoot Discovery Museum near where we were going on our California Roadtrip, of course, Roguetrippers had to plan a visit.
This is a small building owned by the curator of the museum. The little red building is well signed, and easy to find - the bigfoot statues outside ensure of that.
The curator created this museum to share his own passion for the search for bigfoot.
He has artefacts, articles, research papers, and other items to help explain to visitors why there may be truth behind the existence to bigfoot or a bigfoot-like creature.
This museum is small and independently owned and operated without any outside funding - so when you visit - while the museum is technically free - Donations are appreciated. Be a decent traveller and pop a few bucks into the donation jar to keep this museum alive.
There is limited parking - remember it is just one man's private building.
The parking is not an issue as there is not likely to be a lot of visitors at one time.
It won't take a long time to go through this small museum, but the more you want to learn, the longer it will be. The curator has a lot to say on the topic of Bigfoot.
The gentleman who owns the museum is more than happy to talk to his visitors about his experiences, research, and passions. Come with an open mind, have good questions, and be willing to learn.
The truth is out there.

This is a very small, cramped museum that looks like a Bigfoot fan threw stuff together in his garage. It’s pretty haphazard and dusty. The Santa lookalike manning his post is obviously a huge believer and will talk your ear off trying to convince you.
This could be a really cool museum in the hands of a pro with some money. And Bigfoot souvenirs could be a huge income stream if done right. It’s a missed opportunity.

I enjoyed going to the Bigfoot Discovery Museum. Its tiny so its good to combine with a trip to see other things in the area such as Henry Cowell Redwood State Park.
Bigfoot is most likely a mythical creature with ape like characateristics that iis an ape.
There are some film snippets, exhibits, etc. in this tiny museum.
A donation of two dollars per person is encouraged.
Parking is free.

We had the opportunity to speak with the museums archivist who shared his story of seeing big foot at the age of 4. After our visit there were varied levels of belief about big foot.
An interesting diversion when in Felton.

I wish this place was better, and I wanted it to be, but sadly I left thinking I just wasted my time. Friends & family who asked about it since, I will steer them clear unless they want a laugh of all the stuff you can pack in a tiny space. The vibe was weird, the "artifacts" were gimmicky, and an old TV played on loop the footage of bigfoot caught on tape in the 1960's. My husband went back another day with our 3 year old, and our 3 year old had a good time. So maybe it's good for kids on a rainy day in Felton when there isn't anything else to do.

This little museum and it’s curator Mike, took me back to my childhood when all things mysterious where possible. This is a quaint little shop that has, unfortunately, suffered a road closure and kids (and parents) who are more interested in their cell-phones than talking to a real person about his and others’ sightings of the mysterious Big Foot. Well worth a few minutes of your time. Entrance is free, but be to Stop by and drop a few dollars in the donation box before this little piece of nostalgia is extinct.

We went camping at Big Sur and drove here because we love anything paranormal. This place was awesome!! If you love Bigfoot or are just curious you must go! Very interesting site for anyone interested in this subject. The owner was very nice and had lots of information. Cool shirts and other Bigfoot/Sasquatch stuff to buy as well. We will definitely be coming back. That museum made me want to move there.

Took the out of the way back from Santa Cruz to San Jose and took a few minutes to stop here. Seemed as though a lot of the cast were missing or sold. Interesting person that runs the place telling history and hunting expeditions to two from across the pond. I dropped a couple of bucks in the jar. Fun but not exciting. 30 minutes is more than sufficient.

My 6year old is fascinated with Bigfoot so we had to stop here on our trip to Santa Cruz. The man who runs this was great and offered up plenty of info for my son who was too shy to ask. My son informed me that this was the “best day ever”. Definitely a good stop and a great guy running it.

Really, Bigfoot?! Just some old pictures, fake photos, nothing later than 1950's, old toys and books with Bigfoot on them. Free. Boring. Waste of time. Go to the beach or Redwoods instead.
