This is a real hidden gem, off the track, but well worth finding your way there. The tracks to the caves are easy walking. Great vista, plenty of parking.

The road in is 4WD please lower tyre pressure to prevent damaging track. The caves were amazing and the walk trail is easy to navigate and not very hard to do. Take a torch as it is dark in the middle of the cave. Well worth a visit

Drove the sandy southern track entry with a 2003 Rav4 AWD 27 Nov 2020 without any issues, some slightly boggy parts but easily traversed. Might be a different circumstance if was done 4 weeks later if weather was hotter and really dry (we had a day of approx 25 deg celcius). Tyre pressures were left at 36 PSI as we felt no need to lower pressures due to travelling smoothly. Was worth the trip and experience to get there and walk through the cave.

Had a great trip out to the Caves. Old Mitsubishi Outlander made it fairly easily although one section of the track was pretty deep sand.
The cave was different and something you don’t experience everyday and well worth a visit.

Decided to take the plunge and see if our 2013 Kia Sorento would make the journey. It only has 185mm of ground clearance at its lowest point. It did bottom the belly out in 2 spots over the soft sand (Which wasn't an issue and no damage was done). Had to be more cautious over the rocks but managed without any undercarriage scraping. Only dropped tyres to 30psi for the sand and that took us to the cave. For those wondering if their AWD softroader will make it there, ours did. It was well worth the journey.

Went to the Stockyard Gully and explored the cave its a pity that the other two have been cloded hope this is not the case for the last one, great day, alot of climbing if you want to exit at the end or I would advise to go back the way you entered

I traveled with Adventure Tours to see the fabulous cave at Stockyard Gully NP. I highly recommend the cave and the tour guide, Kass. She was highly knowledgable and passionate about the caves and their history and made visiting the huge, easy to walk through cave a special experience. Make sure you complete the full walk after the cave for the full views and exploration of the fauna in the area. Well worth a visit. But you cannot get there with a normal car. 4WD only!

Free to enter. Take walking shoes as cave is 300M from car park. Take a torch or two too.
Lovely walk to cave and stopped to view the massive high beehives along the way. Do not disturb them.
Cave entrance a photo delight as was the exit.
Very dark and really cool temp in the cave. Brilliant. Quiet please. No loud kids or running around. Excellent photo ops with flash.
A very calming and serene place to be.

Visiting the area while holidaying we did the easy 4wd track into the caves off the Eneabba Coolimba rd. We parked at one end of the cave and walked to the entrance. A little scramble over some large rocks took us to the mouth of the cave. This must have been a river many years ago. It's an easy walk through, perhaps 1km til you reach the other side. Nice way to get out of the heat on a hot day too. Just remember to bring a torch!

We had done this track previously with a proper 4WD, but now own a 'soft roader' AWD and found the end section of the track too difficult. We came in from the South and the gravel road gives way to a 4WD track with about 9km to go. Having done plenty of 4WDing in the past we set off... for the most part the track is an easy sandy / limestone track with the usual soft sections and rough rocky patches - nothing serious, but with about 1.3km to go the track took a bend and from what we could see the track ahead looked very soft and chopped up with deep sections (lots of use at peak holiday time) and we decided not to risk getting into a serious bog, as we did not have an air-compressor or shovel with us and were fully loaded up with surfboards and bikes (we were not originally planning to go - just went on a whim on the way back from Dongara).
If we had a shovel, air-compressor, maxtrax, and/or been with another capable 4WD with a snatch strap we would have had a go.

Hi, do we need to have a national park pass before entering the cave/ national park?

Hi Joy If you are a fairly active 73 year old you should have no problem. 4WD is needed to get to the parking areas. Park in the first you see as it is easier access to the caves. You then walk down, from memory its not too steep and along to the entrance to the cave. Make sure you have torch.
