Had such a great day of rafting the Middle Fork American River. Our guide, Nacho, was so good that as a first timer I managed the class IV rapids with no trouble. He provided great instructions and kept it light and fun the entire day. Delish lunch spread too. Will be rafting with Tributary again for sure.

My friend Kris and I went on a half day raft trip last Friday, Sept 15 down the South Fork of the American River. The trip started out with Class 2 rapids and rapidly accelerated to Class 3 rapids and had lots of surprises along the way. The water was clear, cold and there were several places to swim along the route.
We wanted to give a shout out for our wonderful and skillful guide to Valdo. He was very humorous and played some wonderful music. We would request him again and have plans for next year. After the trip, there were clean showers to clean up for the car ride home.
Also Jessica in the front office was very helpful.

This is my 3rd rafting trip on the American river and I have to say Tributary was the best rafting company I've booked with so far. Their amenities were very nice (and not just camping "nice"). They had running HOT water, full kitchen, games, and the camping spots were very nice. I could tell there was though put in to what their guests were going to need. The food was fantastic, we even got a sous vide steak dinner!
For rafting, our guide was Logan. He CRUSHED it with his awesome energy and technical skill. Even as we were going through the class 4 rapids, I felt like we could take them on with him at the helm.
The price is super reasonable and you get more than what you pay for.

My family of four (7 & 9 year old children) along with 4 other families with same age children spent Memorial Day weekend at Tributary's campsite in Lotus, CA. Initially we had planned to raft on the South Fork of the American River for 2 days, but given the high water conditions, and the age of our children (limited to Class 2&3 rapids), we spent 1 day rafting the Class 2 portion of the Middle Fork and the second on the South Fork. Despite the challenging conditions of the high water, Jeremiah and team went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience even with an alternate itinerary. On the last afternoon, they had room on some of their day trips and allowed 4 of us adults to do the second half of the South Fork including the Gorge which is now Class 3&4 rapids. It was super fun!
Eva made it easy to book our trip and accommodated our big group of 20 people. We stayed in their glamping tents in Lotus. It was super comfy with nice cots, and in May wasn't too cold at night. There are very clean bathrooms and showers with warm/hot water right near the tents. The common area has fun activities like corn hole and ping pong. Our kids ran around the property and had a great time exploring independently. They prepared us 5 meals over the 2 days and all the food was great with vegetarian options. This trip really helped ease our kids into rafting and was the perfect intro for hopefully many future trips to come. We would definitely raft with Tributary again and are looking at the Deschutes for next year!

Jason our guide was wonderful so knowledgeable. Our 2 day trip was full of excitement the tents were clean and comfortable . The food was so unexpected Irish's mashed potatoes outstanding. Looking forward to the next trip. Thank you everyone for the GREAT weekend

This was easily one of the best rafting experiences ever made possible by this incredible outfitter. We had the fortune to ride with Jeremiah, who will be a memorable guide for life. We will raft together again and it’s because the guy just gets it. The precision on the water and with his team plus the banter and good fun makes for a perfect experience and it’s clear why these guys are the only great option for riding the American River. Couldn’t be happier and thank you guys for such a fun day

Our family and friends (we were a 18 people group) had so much fun! Our 6 years old daughter was smiling all the way of this 3.30 hours trip.
Some splashes were not expected and that's what makes rafting so entertaining. There are few spots where you can swim, pretty refreshing and enjoyable!
Our river guide Chris was remarkably professional, friendly and passionate.
We slept at the campsite next to the rafting basement, so appreciable!

All I can say is AWESOME! I planned a trip for my husband and kids (17, 14, 13 and 7). It was a last minute thing and I was surprised they still had space.
My husband and kids had a blast! It was their first time ever doing this and they were so impressed! Their guide was Blake. He made it so much fun for them that they still talk about parts of the trip. I think I have heard all the details so much I feel like I was there too. I was worried that my younger one would be scared if she was to fall out but Blake kept them safe and was clear with the rules. My family said he was a lot of fun! He was full of jokes and just made the whole thing a blast especially for their first time! They loved it and Blake so much when I ask if they had to choose between this and Disney (we are a big Disney family) they said the choice was hard! This is saying a lot for our family!
We definitely will be back again! When I mentioned to my husband that maybe we should try other rivers tours he said no that we will continue with this one and we are to request Blake. This says a lot coming from him! :)

We were a group a 6 and most of us had never been on a river before, let alone rafted... but we had an amazing experience! It was a super fun day and our guide Nick really made sure we had a great time. He explained things extremely well and made us feel very comfortable. Raft California provides helmets which was important to us as first timers as some of the other companies did not provide helmets. Also the raft has a rope on the side of the raft that is incredibly helpful to help feel secure and was explained to us as an important piece of safety equipment (we agreed). Not all of the other raft companies out in the river had that on their raft.
The staff in the office was super friendly and awesome answering all of our questions, managing our booking etc. And again, can't say enough about our guide Nick who really made our experience more memorable. Thank you Raft California! We'll be returning in the future.
