Fall tournament and back to Manteca Big League FOD park. Weather was mild and breezy, a nice relief. Smaller draw this time of year so services were easier to come by. Got to use the green space between fields for warmups! Park was clean and ready to accommodate our group. Restrooms can always use more care. Snack bar busy and pizza just average to needs a boost for team between games. Security at gate entrance with bag checks. All in all we had a nice experience!

Nice ballpark with stadiums modeled after big league stadiums. There is ample parking, the facilities are clean (well, until the end of a long day of baseball). You don’t need to bring chairs as there is stadium seating. Shade is very limited. Though there are two indoor seating areas which are air conditioned. Make sure to get a table by the window and you can view the game from indoors. The snack bar is pricey. There is a sign at the entrance that states no outside food or drink is allow, but I brought in water bottles and snacks with no problems.

We had been here last year and came back for another tournament this year. Many of the fields need serious reconditioning and there has been a lot of reported break-ins to cars at night so lock the valuables away. One frustrating area of some of the fields is the lip between the infield and outfield. The ball can actually hit the lip, bounce up and start back into the infield. If can also be a very hot place to play on a sunny summer day with temperatures on the artificial turff getting unbearable.
On the positive side, the indoor area is fully airconditioned with a full-service bar in both areas. Food and drinks are not cheap so a weekend of softball can get expensive.
For girls softball, this is one place they want to play at least one time per year but that is probably all that is needed. My rating here is more related to the general condition of the fields and less of the overall expense of food and entry.

Our team participated in a State Championship softball tournament and had a great weekend! The facility is set up nicely for a large tournament with 6 replica major league theme ball fields, 3 on each end separated by 2 large enclosed snack bars with separate adult beverage service areas, all surrounding an indoor soccer arena. Onsite batting cages (we did not have time to use) and play structure for little ones centrally located.
Individual Stadium Seating at each ball field was great alongside a covered concourse area with tables making for an enjoyable fan experience.
Covered Dugouts are a step down from field elevation and have fans inside for cooling players down. All weather turf fields were hot all day and into the evenings. Too hot towards afternoons! Fields are showing some wear and balls were taking some odd hops, so may be time for replacement turf? Bring cooling towels and ice water; did we say it gets hot out there!
Our tournament was well run but we could have used two umpires per game rather than the one they provided.
Lots of lodging options are available in the Manteca area, so a group from our team stayed together about 8 minutes away from fields.
All in all a nice weekend!

I love this place have been watching my granddaughter play for a few years here. Friendly staff and fun for all ages!

Great looking park for sports but lacks good maintenance. Batting cage balls all outside of hitting area. Please fix the netting.

If you build it they will come. I have to say this is the best youth sports complex I have ever seen. The City of Manteca outdid themselves on this facility. We live 40 minutes away and I never complain about having a game at Big League Dreams field/complex.

My impression of BLD was/is not very favorable. They wanted to charge an unbelievable amount to host Grad night..so graduating seniors from Manteca schools take their money to Modesto. They also charge players to enter the facility. The food was decent, beer was cold but we didn't go very often. It's a local ball park, not a Big League park.

My daughter’s softball team had a softball tournament over the weekend. The two stars are for idea only. This place was probably a gem when it first opened, but kids and also apparently adults are getting harder to please or excite.
The look of the field is neat (mostly turf), but only for a minute. When you get down to the game and a field all you need are some basics therefore the ambience goes out the window and other needs, need to be met...and weren’t.
They say no food or drink his except water and they check your bags, including bat bags. But the person we got both days checked like they were looking for more obvious. Plenty of people snuck in food and drinks, but I unfortunately decided to be a rule follower.
A cost for age 13 and over is $6 and players are $1. But, wait! You get a $1 off token at the snack bar.
The hub is a snack bar circle where you can view the fields all around, but you can’t hear the game you’re watching. You hear the TV’s of professional ball that you didn’t come to watch or a ridiculously loud juke box someone decided to put money in. The food choices are similar to any amusement type park (hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc.) and that junk will cost you a pretty penny. I do not believe anything is under $3.95 (drinks included). They don’t even give you the aluminum your drink came in to recycle and recover some cost. All drinks including energy drinks are poured in cups.
Meals are $10 and above which includes soda and fries. My husband had the luxury of tasting a burger and classified it as a Burger King grade. It should be noted we are a rare fast food family but aren’t “healthy” all the time in general either.
Due to the snack bar being the hub of the fields, that means one way in and out. Talk about poor design! 6 teams with bat bags and spectators. Crowded for sure.
The crowds bring trash, typical mess and bathroom use. The bathrooms started out clean at 0700, but by 1100–they needed some service and not a soul appeared assigned to that and it showed. By 1100 when the team could grab a bite, most tables were freshly dirty and not a soul wiping down a single table. Trash overflowed for at least and hour after the lunch rush. It seems hiring for people here would be a plus. They did have hiring signs for all positions.
While on our trek of the travel softball world, we have been to many fields. It’s odd that the best by far was a city manned field in Elk Grove. This place needs more staff, cut the food cost somehow (less choices and allow all non alcoholic drinks), and probably some sun shades over the spectator are like Elk Grove.
I dread that we have one more tournament here...

Over the years this place has made a fortune on players and parents. One would expect some of that money to be put back into keeping the fields in excellent condition and it is not happening. While they have patched some of the artificial turf on some fields it looks and plays just like that - a patchwork of different levels of carpet. One field even has a big hole behind the plate and the carpet is coming up around the batting boxes. Very poorly maintained and a danger to some of the players. Yet, the raised the prices for spectator entry!
Now lets talk about the food service - Absolutely Horrible. How about 45 minutes to get a simple hot dog. Understaffed and poorly trained and even more over priced. I managed to walk out, down the parking lot to the food places across the street and return before some folks who ordered their food got it. The kitchen and bar services are a mess.
Hoping they will improve but if not will ask our teams not to return next year.

We have 2 hotels I would suggest in Manteca...Best Western and Hampton Inn which are less than 2 miles away. You can try them first, otherwise I suggest you stay in Tracy...they have more hotels there...but it is appx 15 miles west of the ball park. I do not suggest any other hotels in Manteca. I have seen motor homes and trailers in the parking lot for those that are in town for weekend tournaments. I hope this helps.
