‪Go to ride your mountain bike or to hike the ridge trails. Panoramic views from the ridges. great trails to walk with friends or take you dog out for the morning. Really great bicycle trails developed by years of rides by the locals. Home to the former Ridgecrest Desert Classic mountain bike race. Once voted Race of the Year by NORBA, noted for its great riding area and great local organization‬

‪I grew up in the valley and have climbed nearly every peak in the Rademachers, some of them a hundred or more times. My Dad used to take us up to climb what is now Sky Point, as early as 1960. Later on I spent many weekends climbing and hiking the hills. In the 1970's and 1980's I became a marathon runner and trained frequently in the hills. My favorite route was one I called the "Grand Tour", roughly 20 miles. Starting at my home near Church Street, I'd head southwest up the highway, pick up the White Star Ridge, and follow it to its high point. Then I followed the crest as it zigzagged to the east, finally reaching the high point at close to 3700 feet. From there I followed the ridge back to the north over a series of seven peaks, coming off at the base of Sky Point, then 3-something miles home. I did lots of rock climbing, particularly on Andrew Peak and the peak directly east of Sky Point. Lots of nice class 3 and 4 routes up there, and more on the west face of Haystack Mountain. And I did lots of plain old exploring, looking at old mine shafts and the occasional rusted-out car, and the "hermit's cabin" at the base of Andrew Peak. All in all, I had a blast fooling around in those hills. Note re below: I moved to Minnesota in 1984, and my most active years were 1960 to 1984. I ran up and down the Sky Point ridge (all 7 peaks) in Dec. 1999, and climbed Sky Point and Andrew Peak in Sept. 2013. So my "November 2016" below is not really accurate, but was the best choice available. PS: My name is Byron Richardson.‬

‪Rademacher Hills is a popular trail for folks who like hiking in the heat! Must be prepared for desert wild life and high temps.‬
