I can't say enough good things about this beautiful place. The desert area was fantastic - i saw plenty of plants that I have never seen before and the way they are displayed was perfect. Walking the grounds - not only did I see so many plants I had never seen before - but I learned so much too.
The museums on the campus were also very informative and well laid out. Everything was easy to walk to and the general flow of the land was very smooth. There are some parts that were steeper than others, but all very manageable.
I know that we did not see everything because there is so much to see - and I can't wait to go back see the landscape during a different season.

This garden is massive and gorgeous. Give yourself ample time and wear comfy walking shoes. The museums on site are also worthwhile as is the gift shop. We ate in the Japanese area….delicious.

Beaux Art Architecture, Grand European paintings, diverse ethnic gardens, indigenous plants, well-considered circulation, fresh & delicious foods, and pensive niches for restoration. A remarkable day's adventure.

Beautiful place, with gorgeous gardens. The museum is wonderful and very informative. We want to go back when the roses are in bloom and the rose garden room is opened up after expansion. It looks like it's going to be amazing

The expansive, well-maintained, and varied gardens can provide hours of enjoyment. They showcase flora from many regions and climates. There are lots of walking paths that weave through the gardens. When we visited, we also enjoyed the selection of rare books on display.

The Huntington is a great place to spend a day or more! It has something for young and the young-at-heart, for men and women, for nature lovers and for history lovers.
The Japanese garden amazes with its bonsai tree collection and other items, while the newer Chinese garden provides a peaceful lake setting.
The Huntington art museum itself showcases the fine taste of Mr. and Mrs. Huntington with a number of portrait paintings by Gainsborough, Romney, and others. Many other items -- particularly the large stained glass window -- are worthwhile as well!

I met a friend for a breakfast today at the Red Car restaurant at the Huntington. We both ordered totaling about $35 and I left a generous tip on the credit card. I went back in 15 minutes later to order a muffin which came to $4.02. I decided to pay with cash and gave the server on duty (named MARY) a $20 bill. I saw there was a jar with some pennies and other coins in there and took 2 pennies out to give it to MARY. There was no sign on the jar that said anything-it appeared to be one of those take a penny type of jars. MARY was not pleased that I took the 2 pennies out and scolded me as if I was stealing from the staff. Needless to say, this customer was not pleased and canceled my order and got my money back. It was a horrible customer experience. If you are setting up a tip jar, say it on there. Thanks MARY.

Not enough superlatives to describe this breathtakingly beautiful garden! The Chinese Garden is modeled after those in Suzhou, China, and, indeed, many of the elements, including rocks and pebbles were imported from there, along with Chinese craftsmen, who worked alongside local landscapers to implement the design. The cactus garden is rather incredible and there is a lovely raked Japanese Zen garden with an avenue of bright yellow Gingko trees. One can easily spend a whole day here just wandering the grounds. Find a quiet spot and just BE !

Absolutely stunning garden with a creative and colourful variety. Huge cactus trees, lovely lilly ponds, rose gardens, palm forest. I guess I have seen a colibri! I hope I did 🙂

Beautiful garden, what an amazing collection of trees and plants. We were there hours, so many lovely spots to sit. Had lunch in Jade Garden then while granddaughter was taken to childrens garden we had a small opportunity to see some art. Am amazing day out

I will be in the Los Angeles area for about one month. When would be the best time to see the garden in full bloom.

There are so many different collections there my guess is that something will always be in bloom, regardless of the season. Our climate is so mild - plenty of beautiful things bloom in winter. But I agree with the other answer that you should give a call when you arrive and ask.

You can get tickets online, but there really isn’t a need to.
Parking is free.
Just go to the ticket window at the entrance. They will also give you a map and a brochure detailing any exhibits during your visit.

ALSO NOTE that there is one day every so often when the Huntington is free and ONLY people who have the free tickets can get in that day - you can't just show up and buy a ticket. NO, I don't know which day that is, but I think there is one free day a month. So check the website before setting out for the Huntington.
