Gorgeous trail alongside a reservoir. Favorite local place to run or walk. Lovely on both sunny and rainy days.

A beautiful trail down through the Hetch Hetchy/Crystal Springs water system. Shaded by trees and starts downhill before becoming mostly flat. Gorgeous trees, plenty of walkers and bikers, and several restroom facilities along the way.

Beautiful paved walk along the lake. Level. Easy. Only problem, on a lovely Saturday morning, it was REALLY crowded. Families. Runners. Bikers. But a great spot to get away from the hussle and bussle of the area.

If you're lucky, you will see some beautiful 4 legged creatures. It gets very crowded during weekends and during Covid. Sunset and sunrise would be my recommendation to visit.

We enjoyed a mid morning walk on Sawyer Camp Trail. We liked the views. This is both a walking trail and is also used by bikes.

We wen for a nice walk on the Peninsula at Sawyer Camp Trail. There were others out on this sunny Sunday. It is by Crysta Springs Reservoir.

The views are beautiful and it's a great place to go for a walk or a bike ride! There are mile markers so you know how far you've gone. There are enough people using the trail in the first couple miles of the trail so that you're safe, but not so crowded that's loud or annoying.

Always a good place to walk. You can do a short walk, or a long walk. Watch for the bikes going too fast and the human defecation along the road. Some nationalities see nothing wrong with dropping shorts and taking a dump along side the path.

Went there on a Friday morning. There's lots of cars parked along the side of the road, so you know you're in the right place. There's bike tools and a couple of restrooms at the 'trail head'. The trail is mostly shaded, and has portions in the sun, where it can get warm.
We are able to to see 3 deer grazing by the trail, undisturbed by the passing walkers.
A downside was the trimming and branch grinding going on -- but it has to happen sometime.
I rated this a 4 because there are bikers that you need to be aware of. There's only 1-2 that decide the speed limit doesn't apply to them -- and surprisingly, they didn't even call out.
Lots of birds and plants to view.
There were restrooms at the beginning, end and in-between. Also lots of benches to rest, as well as multiple tool locations.
Since this is paved, I might make this a bike trip next time :)

出張最終日に14時の帰国便前にひとり1時間ジョギングしました。
平日8時からCrystal Spring roadのアクセスポイントから北へ約10kmの道のりでした。現地までの移動はUberを利用。
鹿やリスや水鳥がいる中、壮大な地形の中を駆けれて最高でした。
道は舗装されていてウォーキングやサイクリングの方もちらほらいて地元で人気のトレイルスポットなのかな？と思いました。
帰国便に間に合うように気を使いましたが、Uberもすぐに来てくれて短時間でカリフォルニアの自然を満喫することができました。

There is cell service. Even though the trail seems rural and remote, it is actually not that far from civilization. Just feels that way

Thanks for the answers. Can you still walk or drive across across the dam for the Crystal Springs Reservoir? I grew up in San Mateo decades ago and we could see the dam from our house. I'd love to be able to do that again when I check out the trail

The bridge is currently undergoing replacement. Latest info on the project has a winter 2017 end date.
