It's beautiful if you have the energy or stamina to get to the top. You can hike around the parking lot area a bit but for the real views you've got to get to the top. You'll have to decide if it's worth the trip or not.

Beautiful place to hike and get some exercise. There are many different trails to choose from. You can also rent horses and horseback riding along one of those many trails.

This is a great hike and once on the ridge the views are beautiful. But it is uphill all of the way with a few break points and then downhill. I would recommend a walking stick just in case you come across a rattler as they have been none to sun or slither about!

It has a few trails that are pretty steep (you may want to put your hiking boots on), great for hiking with family and or friends. Also bring along bottled water, hat and some snacks if wanting to go for a longer hike (specially on a hot day)

This Regional Wilderness Area was a great respite from the hustle and bustle of San Ramon and the surrounding area. It was a fantastic ride to get to the trailheads, especially in beautiful weather. It is remote, with beautiful rolling hills and scenery. There are multiple trail options available in this area. Be aware, cell service here is spotty/non-existent....but that’s not a bad thing!!!

Maybe I'm biased since I live so close but I think it's a great escape from the city, so close to the city and yet you feel like you've escaped far enough to enjoy some nice hiking.

I walk here a lot. Nice and quiet - even/easy trail. Not a lot of foot traffic. Easy for my dog to walk with me.

Lots of great hikes in Las Trampas..... The rocky ridge trail is my favorite... A little strenuous, but once on the ridge, great views on the Bay, San Francisco, Lake Chabot and Mount Diablo. Beautiful in the Spring when all is green. So close to San Ramon, but so quiet and peaceful. Lots of different hiking trails and a nice place for a picnic...
