‪An amazing day of exploration!‬
العائلة • أغسطس 2020
‪We read what we could find about this hike. Having rented a van, we parked in a lot well before the rough road started and we quickly saw why 4x4 is needed as we traversed this on foot!
After passing through the red gate, we veered on the path to the left and hiked almost 4 miles to a huge waterfall with a small deep pool below where my kids enjoyed jumping in to the frigid waters below. It was so beautiful, blue and clear! We crossed over right above the waterfall and continued on the path on the other side. A mile or so later, we came to another waterfall with a large area to relax and hang out on rocks, but without a pool. We continued on this path back to the fork where we originally went left (this was the right path) and back to the parking area. This was a total of about 8 miles. I would rate it a moderate hike with some areas being quite easy. We crossed through water on 6-7 occasions, one being across the creek where the water was almost knee deep!
Overall, it was a great experience with beautiful rewards throughout! Highly recommend. ‬

‪Pleasant hike‬

‪The Cascade creek trail can be accessed directly from Cascade Village or from a dirt road off of 550. We have a place at Cascade Village so this is one of my "go to hikes" we have done numerous times over the course of a decade. The first mile of the dirt road is accessible to most vehicles. The last mile and a half requires a truck with good clearance such as a 4Runner, Land Rover or Jeep. I tried it in an X3 some years ago but bottomed out and did not proceed. Generally, I start from Cascade Village, past the water towers and across cascade creek. The total round trip hike from Cascade Village to the first waterfall is about 9.5 miles. If you take a 4x4 to the tail head it cuts about 5 miles off the total hike. I would characterize it as moderate intensity. According to my GPS app it has a total of 1289 feet of ascent from Cascade Village.‬

‪A hidden beauty‬

‪This is a wonderful trail for nature lovers, along the Cascade Creek. Eventhough the road is bumpy, you can drive up to the parking lot (about 1 mile from the main road) and save your energy for the hike. There are no directions along the path but you can just follow the trail. We went in early summer and the water was cold and the weather was great.‬

‪Beautiful hike to several waterfalls (early summer). Well used trail, including horses, so be sure dogs are under control. ‬

‪Make sure you know east from west‬
أغسطس 2017
‪I don't usually write anything, blogs or books or posts, unless I think there's something new or clarifying to say from what is already out there. The distances and descriptions I've read across the web don't always distinguish whether the hiker took the east (right turn after the gate) trail (which I believe is the 10.9 mile trip listed in other places) or the west trail (left at Fork). I went left/West. Shorter hike by a third I'd guess. Moreover, for those that have written about the West trail, there hasn't been any mention of creek crossings. In all these posts, time of year and weather will be quite relevant. I hiked July 30 after about 8 days of rain. The water was seasonally very high historically speaking but I'm sure not as high as if you went in June. There is a creek crossing soon after the split left and it got knee high on a six foot adult. It was a challenge for my two 50 lb dogs and 9 yr old boy. There were I think 3 more feeder creek crossings going up, some of which could largely be rock hopped if you took your time. Lastly, I agree with another reviewer that the forest was Oregon-like. Very wet, moss hanging from the pine branches. What I also experienced was that the trail got buggier the higher we hiked until it was intolerable by the first big falls and we went back. I had long pants, long-sleeve shirt and hat and with some deet around the neck and hands was ok. The others weren't dressed for it and were turned off.
For what it's worth! :)‬

‪~ 14.5 miles round trip if you want to see 150 foot falls.‬
زوجان • يوليو 2017
‪A challenging hike for mid summer for sure. With 40 minutes total of rest throughout the trip, total time was 6.5 hours. The waterfall views are worth it, and the best one is last. Recommended to go to the top of 150 foot falls if you don't mind a bit of a scramble, beautiful surprises await there.‬

‪Stunning views along the entire trail‬

‪We did a 10 mile hike along Cascade Creek. It was a beautiful trail. The guide book we had told us to cross the creek, which was impossible. Thankfully we ran into some other folks, who told us that we didn't have to cross the creek and it would lead to the same location. Such a wonderful experience. ‬

‪Perfect is you want easy to moderate hike‬

‪We have gone on this trail in the spring and in the winter. Flowers/trees/grasses/scenery are beautiful in the spring. Great easy/moderate place to snowshoe or cross country ski. Quiet, secluded with very easy access.‬

‪Beautiful, Not-Too-Hard Hike‬
زوجان • أغسطس 2016
‪We had a wonderful time on this hike today. It wasn't too hard, but lots of beautiful scenery to admire. Overall, it took us about 3 hours to do. The road up is treacherous, so make sure you have the right type of vehicle.‬
