We always find the bookstore when exploring. It always makes the day a little better. This is the kind of bookstore I like. Lots of diverse selections with not a blatant agenda to the books they want to sell. My favorite was a little hidden spot by the travel section to sit down and read a bit of the books you're interested in. The lady working the counter is friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell she loves her books and her work. I look forward to our next visit.

The best book store around. Friendly and helpful staff that know all their books. They can pick one for you just by hearing what you read. Their red Wagon filled with books for a gift is wonderful

This is a great place to browse...an old fashioned bookstore with great selections and helpful, knowledgeable people.

Great little hidden bookstore...staff is so kind and always willing to order a book if they don't have what I am looking for. Also, when I can't decide what to read they are always ready with a great recommendation!

I love shopping at Diane's. Whether you buy the book you think you want, or several others that catch your fancy, the people at Diane's can give you honest and helpful reviews. There really is something for everyone, even though the space is limited. There's a great children's book section, a travel section, best sellers and lots of other aspects. It is a true joy to visit Diane's.

If you like walking into a real bookstore, with books on tables and covering every square inch of the store (including some of the floor!) then you will love this place. The employees there are all readers, love books and someone there is going to be able to give you a recommendation no matter what your request. This is not just a place to get the new best sellers (although they have all of them) but a place to browse, to discover and find a new book treasure. And what they don't have in stock, they can order it for you and ship it as well if it is a gift (which we have done numerous times).
If you are tired of the mega-stores and reading a list of recommendations on a website, then this is a store for you.

There are not very many quaint yet well stocked neighborhood bookstores anymore. Diane's Books is a rare find. It stocks a large selection of genres and the staff is always knowledgeable, eager to help and no one ever rushes you. One of the things I love most about Diane's is that the salespeople seem to have read many of the books in the store! This makes for great personal recommendations. The store is on two levels and the spaces are small but manageable. Just off the main strip, on Greenwich Avenue, the store is easily accessible. If you live in New York City and come to Greenwich for a visit, this is a must on your list. Plan a lunch around your visit and then go shopping along the Avenue.

Diane’s books is the best book store around. It reminds me of the “shop around the corner” in the movie “you’ve got mail”. The staff is extremely helpful and if you can’t find a book of interest there, you won’t find it anywhere else. Books are stacked everywhere and you end up discussing various books with customers while shopping for that special book for yourself. The parking isn’t great but Greenwich Ave is your best bet even if you have to walk abit to get to the store. I hope this little “gem” stays in Greenwich for many years to come.

Diane and her sales staff has an uncanny ability to find the perfect book for anyone for whom you wish to find a gift. Just describe the person and their interests and they will find the newly published book, that they have not read and will be sure to love. Bookstore's like Dianes' are the reason that bookstores need to continue to exist, even in the online world.
