Visita molto interessante.

We had a magical visit in this region. We spotted a lot of wildlife in the sanctuary at Bajana, but the whole region is teeming with birdlife. We are very lucky that our regular driver and companion Vickram Singh Rathod has a good knowledge or birds, and an eagle eye for spotting birds.

Magnifique nature sauvage, avec ses ânes et ses oiseaux. Ne pas manquer les salines et la mer de sel, les petits villages de tisserands, des tissus brodés colorés et originaux

One the best place to see Peregrine Falcon, Mcqueen;s Bustard, Imperial Eagle, Harries, Flamingos and many many more birds. Last refuge for Wild Ass. Sunset is the best here. Can contact www.wild-india.in for wildlife tours here.

I am a passionate bird photographer and wanted to take snaps of lovely flamingos. After searching in google, I came to know about little ran of Kutch (LRK) and ECO Camp, Jogad now run by Ajay Dhamecha. After talking with him, i have booked Kooba hut (traditional huts) for 1 night and morning safari. I have heard a lot of good things about Devjibhai Dhamecha and his son Ajay Dhamecha. I experienced a lot of good things more than i have expected. Ajay Dhamecha, a passionate photographer and perfect guide & administrator. If you want to see birds in the wet land then morning ride is the best. I have started my journey for ride around 6.30 am with breakfast packed with us. Ajayji was our guide cum driver. He has such a vast knowledge about the Ecology of LRK and bird species. I have seen around 25 species of birds including greater & lesser flamingos, pelican, harriers, larks, eagles, egrets and lot more and also the exclusive Wild Ass in many numbers. Also experienced the salt manufacturing in LRK. It was an unique experience with Ajayji in the Desert of LRK. I would love to visit again and again and stay in Kooba huts at Eco Camp, Jogad.

The group arrived early morning to Ahmedabad and had some rest and breakfast. The tour leader and co-leader met the group at the reception and assisted them to exchange the British pounds. Then we started out journey towards LRK. Manisha explained entire itinerary and Dhaval briefed about the birds likely to be seen En route. At 1200 hours, we reached at a dumping site just next to the road where many raptors are seen occasionally. We could see 40 Egyptian Vultures, Steppe Eagle, Woolly- necked Stork and Black Kites. After enjoying this quick and easy sighting, as soon as we took our seats in the bus, we saw a pair of Sarus cranes flying at a distance but, well seen with binoculars. Indeed a wonderful start of our trip.
After the lunch and some rest, we started afternoon safari towards endless LRK. Sanctuary area starts after more than 10 km drive from Rann riders which provides some good birding opportunity. We saw a Spotted Owlet in the middle of the village in a house. We also stopped at a waterhole to see some waders and warblers. We could also see a group of Wildass. We enjoyed evening tea with Salt- pan workers and did not miss a chance to see waders in the saltpans. Later, we reached at the location of Striped Hyena pair on the scavenging walk. We enjoyed the sighting for several minutes and left to resort.
Next day
We started early morning from Rann riders towards a wetland in the LRK. We saw Greater Spotted Eagle and Steppe Eagle with hundreds of waterbirds like Grey lag goose, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Eurasian Wigeon, Northern Pintail, and Common Pochard. We also saw waders like Kentish Plover, Ruff, Little Ringed Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Little Stint, Temminck’s Stint and some Sandpipers. Rare Black-necked Stork was also photographed. We enjoyed our packed breakfast with thousands of Flamingos and some Small Pratincoles. We also had pretty good view of the Wildass group of fe- males and calves for several minutes. Later we could also see a male Wildass entering this group.
Rann riders resort also attracts many bird species due to native plantation. We had good view of 26 species in the resort some of them were Black Redstart, Syke’s Warbler, Red-throated Flycatcher, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Black crowned Night Heron, and White-eared Bulbul. In the evening safari, we saw Ruddy Shelduck, Indian Spot-billed Duck, Cotton Pygmy Goose and other bird species. We also photographed Nilgai. In return, we had glimpse of Syke’s Nightjar and Indian Hare.

This is a bird watchers and a photographers paradise. Our family was there during Navaratri time 2018. It is a 3 hr drive from Ahmedabad. It is about 2000 rs for a 3-4 hr safari in an open jeep. The drivers are typically very knowledgeable about the birds and the other fauna in the santuary.. Call - 94089 86407 for driver.
Take plenty of water. there are thousands of flamingoes, cranes , ducks and many birds of prey like eagles, falcons .. There are several desert birds like larks as well. It is wild Ass sanctuary , so you will surely get to see them. You could also see fox, wolves, rabbits, nilgai and other deer.
Have to take a permit to go in. The driver will help you with that.
There are salt making villages - must visit. They do provide tea for a basic price and they talk about how salt is produced.

Hi, are there some months of the year when tourism is not available in little rann of kutch. I am planning to visit between 27th t0 30 sep 2017 will little rann be available for visit during that time

Technically the rann is open but will not be white but rather at and like a vast lake. Will there be a crowd and much action - I dont think so. it's winter that rocks the desert zones and the tent city wakes up to the festival which really is a way to drive tourism. But then feel free to drop in for a day or two. Accommodation won't be available close by so get this sorted first. It's going to be hot so be careful. Go to Kalo dungar for the view of the great rann and head to dhordo village to check out the rann up close. If you are riding or driving you will fall in love with the roads once you are out of city. Once you are off the main highway the roads are ok with some real bad adventure patches. Best luck.
Hi,,What are the recommended places to stay...? What is the nearest International Airport and How is the LRK from the air port...?

There are several camps near LRK - Kidi, Dasada, Bajana, Zainabad. Google search or check Lonely Planet guide. I believe Ahmedabad is the nearest airport - about 3 hours on the road to get here.

Few year back we had visited little rann of kutch with the family. We stayed there in rann rider. This is one of the best property for Holiday. Safari was included in rann rider booking.
