Just got back from a wonderful anniversary weekend. We booked too late and weren’t able to do “A taste of Spain” prefix menu with wine pairing but we will be back to try the next prefix offering, it looks amazing. We ate off the regular menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner - everything was A+ including the cocktails. The best part of our weekend was actually the food and cocktails. The chef was nice enough to come out and ask us how our dinner was. My Italian husband raved about the meatballs to the chef who was also Italian. When the chef found out it was our anniversary, he sent us a complimentary dessert. A guitarist played during dinner which really made the night special. The bedding is so cozy, the spa is clean, and the property is landscaped beautifully. I will be booking the Villa Duplex next trip so we can cozy up with our own fireplace and have a kitchen.

I gave them a 3 for effort. My husband and I arrived at this spa with pretty high expectations of what and how a spa should be. Sadly the level of this place is not the same level as the price. I do think that they are trying really hard to keep it together after a very tough couple of years and they are hosting still weddings and private parties and this requires a lot of staff and a lot of effort. But the facilities are old and the rooms/buildings are not well maintained. We have traveled Europe a lot and we had hoped this would be a bit nicer. We checked into our room and I was disappointed in the size of the room. My husband had booked this trip and didn't know that the standard rooms meant "tiny" space. We asked if we could upgrade and they did this immediately for 60$. Once we moved into one of the country rooms and got settled, the phone rang and it was the front desk telling us they made an error and that this room was booked for the following evening. We opted to stay in the room and they moved us to a "Villa" without another uncharge. The Villa was moldy smelling and not well maintained/updated..aka OLD. I was surprised. We reserved the infrared sauna for 50 mins and we actually laughed out loud when we saw that this is actually a tiny one person space that we squeezed ourselves into. We are not overweight or so and it was a squeeze to sit in there together. yikes. Our spa services were good, we both got 50 minute massages. I thought the MT was very friendly and knowledgeable. I am also an MT so I have high expectations and was glad I got someone experienced. However, one did get the feeling that they were in a hurry to get thru the massage to hit all the points. They have 50 mins to massage and 10 mins to turn the room over. they work these poor techs like slaves. It was very fast paced and my husband had the same experience, When we first arrived we went to the pub and ordered cappuccinos. It took a very long time and the waitress said she had to send them back bc they weren't good. When they finally came it was actually that powdered stuff thats full of sugar and tasted terrible. How can a "High end" hotel offer this garbage? We were shocked. We sent them back and got normal coffee which tasted a lot like diner coffee. Not the level one would expect. We had a package deal the first day and received breakfast as part of the deal which was very good and got French press coffee which was better than anything we had had there til then. We had dinner there that evening and found the food to be very good and the waitstaff to be friendly and efficient (my tuna dish was full of sugary sauce which was sad but the tuna was cooked to perfection. I was told by a staff person that the hotel is in the process of getting rid of the villas as part of their hotel and then it all made sense why they were in the state they were in. My over all impression: this was once a really nice place that is suffering from staffing issues and financial stresses like many businesses and they are doing the best they can. We will not be back however...way too expensive for what they offer. Too bad. 1350$ bill for 2 nights with food, drinks and services. Not terrible. Wish they were better.

It was my husbands birthday surprise and we rented a condo. When we arrived no one in the inn in the reservations area was wearing masks except the staff who were masked and behind plexiglass. Many guests were in white robes sitting around the lobby. When I asked the staff they said they had lifted the mask mandate that weekend. COVID was still rampant. We walked down to see our unit and noticed almost every building along the way had unrepaired very visible water damage.
After a long wait the staff said they would notify us when the unit was ready, we returned to ask for a third time for the key.
Walking into the condo the smell of mold was so strong and the carpet unclean we left. Needless to say we checked out, canceled dinner and spa reservations and drove away. Very disappointing for a reputable place like the Norwich spa.

I traveled alone. The staff made me feel very comfortable. They were wonderful. From check in, to the spa and dinning room. Fred is wonderful and brought luggage to my room. Always had a smile. DaShan and Ryle in Wellingtons were great. Food was very good. The grounds are beautiful. I would recommend a package. Makes it a little cheaper. I will go back with friends. Will be cheaper that way as well. But definitely will go back

Went here for my 30th birthday and had a horrible time. Spa was freezing cold, clearly they are skimping on heat and other necessary amenities to save $ during COVID, yet my service was full priced. Renewal facial was a joke, just a slathering on of heavily scented products that brought on a cystic acne episode so severe I am now on antibiotics. They blocked off EVERY seat in the place, I am disabled and was in a lot of pain and had to stand (pretty sure this is not legal.) PLEASE save your money and go to a real spa! This place is charging just for the grounds, which are pretty but very ugly in winter. Not worth it at all.

A tired facility that needs major renovation. This is a complex comprising a former country club, a spa addition, and a short walk to about two dozen teeny condo rentals..such as 800 sq. foot one bedrooms on two floors with Murphy fold-down beds. Ugh. An outdoor pool the size of a giant toilet..and a narrow indoor lap pool..not too appetizing. Our large room looked like something from a 1950s Holiday Inn. Staff seemed more intent on "doing their time" than helping customers. Often there was no one at the front desk. I arranged one time for a massage..they'd booked another. We asked for housekeeping..none came. The restaurant was pretty expensive and none too good. My wife ordered a short rib..which usually falls off the bone..it was too tough even to cut with a knife..we reordered...and got the same semi-inedible replacement.
The landscaping is lovely..and nearby Norwich, an old clipper ship port is worth a visit..as is nearby Stonington..but better you stay there than in Norwich, sorry to say.

This place has excellent reviews for their spa so we decided to have dinner. The food was subpar, too much salt and over priced. Nice to eat dinner on deck outdoors but they could you some insect control. Customer service was good but very disappointed in meal. I have had better pub dinners.

The dining outside was lovely - and our first time at a restaurant! The tables were spread out, disinfected, the waiter wore gloves that he changed frequently. Paper menus. The food was good and a reasonable value. Tell them NOT to bring you your check in the plastic holder - that was the only thing they did that felt unsafe during COVID times. I ate here twice during a recent visit, and they worked with my concerns for safety.

I usually go to Woodloch but they were booked so I figured I would try Norwich. I went for a girls getaway to relax and unwind, Unfortunately the experience was anything but relaxing. We were greeted at the front desk in a brusque manner and although we arrived at 12 and learned that our room was vacant, we were rudely informed that we could not check in until 4. Unfortunately there are very few classes offered at this spa so there was not much to do. Our spa services although good were scheduled in an ill conceived manner. We had scalp massages at 5-5:30 and deep tissue from 5:30-6:30. Instead of keeping us in the same room with the same therapist we were told to get up to now wait for our next service! when I questioned as to why I was told that usually they book them where one service flows into the other but whoever did the scheduling did not. At approximately 11:30 PM the cable went out and simultaneously there was a loud buzzing noise which kept my friend and I up for about 45 minutes. The next morning at about 7AM we were woken to dishes clanging beneath us but were informed we were not above the kitchen.Upon speaking to the staff I was greeted by the same person at the front desk who was about as helpful as a piece of wood. Needless to say I won't be back!

I came to The Spa at Norwich Inn with a few of my girlfriends to celebrate my bachelorette weekend. Our plan was to stay at the spa, have a day of pampering and head to Mohegan for dinner and drinks. There were many levels to this visit so it’s easier to break it down.
The Spa:
I have nothing bad to say about the spa itself. The staff is exceptional, the spa is beautiful, the complimentary water was infused with crystals which made my heart skip a beat.
I received a 50 minute massage and added on the CBD oil. It was amazing. Tiara was superb and I haven’t felt that relaxed in such a long time. Lounging around in our robes with a glass of champagne in hand, was exactly what I needed and wanted.
The spa itself, easily deserves 5 stars. For that alone, I would consider going back.
The Salon:
As my bachelorette was that night, I thought getting a wash and style would be the perfect beginning to the night. I’ll preface this with the fact that I have hair down to the middle of my back. It is very fine but there is a ton of hair. I have had my hair curled many times, and know it can stay but also know if done wrong, it will fall flat in seconds. My appointment began at 4:30 but arrived early and started closer to 4:15. The stylist shampooed my hair twice and conditioned. All of which took about 10 minutes. She then began styling. After 75 minutes, I told the stylist I had to leave. All of the curls she had attempted to do fell flat in seconds. I was so disappointed, late and frustrated. Thankfully Renee was accommodating and very kind and offered to remove the charge. The salon is a definite avoid. It’s absolutely not worth your time and money. 1 Star.
** my bridesmaid had the same service and had to go back to our room to restyle her hair again too.
Food:
Delicious. No complaints once. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. We couldn’t decide if we loved the calorie count on everything or not, but very informative either way. Easy five stars.
Service:
If we remove the spa staff. The rest of the service was so sub par. I don’t know if they intentionally understaff or if everyone is absolutely in no rush to do anything. Our first meal was lunch before our treatments. We had two hours until they started. For lunch and one round of drinks, it took 90 minutes. Nearly 20 just to get drinks.
Our next meal was breakfast. We ordered a round of iced coffees. Some of which had no ice. We then asked 3 separate people for milk and cream. 20 minutes for milk and cream with coffee! Again, the food and drinks were delicious. But it is unsurprising they add gratuity to everything. They absolutely do not earn the entire 19% tip. It’s as though they know it’s guaranteed so no one really cares.
Checking out was another ordeal. It is not clarified that you pay for all of your treatments after you check out. But, whatever, no big deal. I was told my card was going to be charged an additional $360. Not understanding I asked for what purpose? The woman stated she didn’t know and would print an itemized receipt. They were my bridesmaid spa treatments. Understandingly we all paid for our treatments. Once settled we were then told there was an outstanding $25. For what?! The woman stated she didn’t know. How? How could you not assist in that answer? After some frustration we realized it was our spa fee. I was floored by the lack of professionalism, knowledge and ease of transaction. 2 stars.
Room:
We chose a villa for the night and although it was nice, comfortable and relaxing. It needs some serious TLC. My shoe went through the stairs going to the room! And the tv in our room didn’t work.
3 stars. Also, the salt pool house, is so gross. Dirty, smelly, nothing “spa” like at all.
My recommendation, come for the day at the spa, make plenty of time for food and go home.

I'm staying there in a few days is the sauna , steam room , pool and jacuzzi free to use

We bought a package and, yes, it included the sauna, steam room, hot tub, towels, robes and tea & biscuits. It also included a dinner for two in the attached restaurant, which was delicious.
