Of course there are books. You can rent DVDs. The Friends book store sells books for reasonable prices. The Library has speakers.

Great place to get kids and adult books at bargain prices.

My coworker and I just walked around the library to see some of the attractions in it. The book sale was great - lots of books, CD's, videos, etc., in great condition at great prices!

Modernistic library which has all the great things - kids books area, magazines, research, computers, and great collections - also has a Passport office - convenient spot right in the center of town and close to restaurants and the Mall

Nice people, great selections of books. Helpful staff. Clean and neat. Passport office is very civilized.

The Ferguson library offers outstanding programs and a serene modern environment to relax and read or research. BUT did you know that the library also has Fairfield County's only non-profit used book shop (and the only independent book shop in Stamford)?
The Book Shop sells gently used books, movies and music at reasonable prices. All items are donated by the community, and most books are priced at $5 or less. The Shop has locations at the Main Library and Harry Bennett Branch and is open during library hours. All proceeds support the Library.

A beautiful building which looks exactly like one would picture a New England library to look like.
Has everything a patron could want- including a nice new books section and a very well stocked bookstore to buy books.
The city is well served here.
And yes- there is a Starbucks

It's such a great resource for Stamford. I didn't get a library card here for so many years after we moved and I really regret it. Always someone to help me out finding a book, using the resources, lots of programs for social and outreach going on. Love it!

Awesome collection and very rich. Staff is very good. Very nice programs and activities for the kids. My daughter is loving it and so are we.
