If you appreciate turtles like Cherry Wonderdog, the Ream Wilson Clearwater Trail at Kapok Park is nirvana. It’s an exceptionally quiet venue, with next to no tourists and only a few local visitors. The varied walking conditions (large paved paths and wonderfully preserved boardwalks) invited people of all walks of life. We saw dog walkers, moms with strollers, families on picnics, professionals taking a break, and rugged tourists like Cherry Wonderdog.
The Kapok turtles were king here. They swam in the water and sunbathed on logs as if their troubles were a distant memory. Much of the vegetation supported their habitat – wetlands and swamps. But there was also an element of Kapok that was far dryer, one in which majestic weeping willow and trees of similar southern descent dominated the landscape, producing speckled patches of shaded passages for shelter from the sun’s piercing rays, or allowing a simple pause to craft a creative photographic masterpiece.
Wonderful place to visit. Cherry Wonderdog sends a shout out to favorite son #1 for adding it to our Monday itinerary.

Great place for a run or bike. Trail is long and goes through parks and you can take it to the Clearwater causeway.

Nice paved trail to walk or ride your bike. Has picnic tables and benches along trail. Has creek in spots.

This is a great trail that we use to connect from Clearwater Beach on our way towards Tampa. Smooth wide trail that is not crowded most of the time, great scenic ride that cross the water. One of the best ride you will find, we cover about 30 miles there and back.

It is a fairly long trail and it connects to a number of parks, including Kapok Park, and if you go up Bayshore, you can connect to Philippe Park, one of the best in Pinellas. Trail is fairly well shaded so you can enjoy it in the Spring and early Summer.

Miles and miles of wonderfully maintained Greenway. Whether you’re a runner, biker, walker or just want to watch animals and enjoy peaceful quiet, this is the trail!
There are water stations along the way, benches, frisbee golf course, fishing areas in adjacent parks, beautiful streams and wildlife.
We’ve been on the trail every morning and absolutely enjoy exploring every mile of this trail and the parks connected to the trail.
Well done Clearwater!

I ride every week and this is a great long trail with great views, not overcrowded and can really get some speed going.

Perfect trail, large, go as far has you can, some parts are in shade when its a too sunny its good to stop and rest for a sip.

Recently moved to Clearwater area, found Reams-Wilson trail and it was worth the ride. It goes by parks with tennis, racket ball, disc golf, and hiking. Also goes right by Spectrum field easy access to spring training baseball. Also has easy access to Bayshore Dr which makes it easy to go to Courtney Campbell trail or Safety Harbor which is a quaint little community on the bay, and it is nice that the trail intersects with other trails such as the Courtney Campbell and the Duke energy trail. You get a nice view of the Tampa skyline and don't miss the Osprey nest in the town park. The great thing about this trail is that it takes you to nice places without having the headache of Florida traffic and trying to find parking spots

The City of Clearwater's Ream Wilson Trail provides a wonderfully scenic trip from the middle of the county to the Bay: hills, lakes, sun, shade. Once you reach Bayshore Blvd, travel up to Safety Harbor for some refreshment and relaxation before your return trip!

I do not believe so but would suggest you check with local park rangers. You can go from the trail to Philippe Park in Safety Harbor and they have shelters with barbecues so they might allow campfires.

The closest bike rental I know of is in Dunedin on Douglas and Spinner. It's about 4 miles to the trail from there. However, the rental shop is on the Pinellas trail Which is also a nice trail

There are many bike shops in the greater Clearwater area. I would recommend Ride & Roll in Largo on West Bay.
