A wonderful research/training facility. Professional knowledgeable staff; Enjoyed our swim with the dolphins. The sensory area: is no longer viable.

Um lugar incrível! adoramos conhecer. Voluntários trabalham em um programa de terapia com golfinhos. Visitantes também são bem vindos e podem interagir com os golfinhos com valores que são acessíveis

Wonderful facility! Our family of 6 (ages 7- 66) all loved seeing and learning about the dolphin pod at Island Dolphin Care. The staff were kind, professional, and very knowledgeable. 10/10 experience.

Fantastic tour! My husband and I learned all about the care, training, etc. of this facility. You can tell the employees and volunteers are so passionate about the dolphins and wanting to maintain a healthy, safe, fun environment for them.

We were surprising our kids with a trip to meet the dolphins. They loved it and learned a lot. Mostly, we like making a contribution to a good cause. Happy kids are a bonus! Thanks to the staff for a special memory

This was our 2nd time going to Island Dolphin Care. Once again, it was such a remarkable experience!! Our special needs son and our entire family enjoyed the class and swim each and every day. It was very educational, hands on and just so much fun! The team at IDC is truly the dream team! Highly recommend this experience and you will cherish memories for a lifetime.

Trust me when I say, pick up the phone, make an appointment, make the time to visit Island Dolphin Care. Small kids, teenagers, and adults will LOVE this experience.
We got to explore a tank with baby nurse sharks and sting rays before we met the dolphins and had no idea the connection we were about to have with them. It was an up close, hands on experience that focused on the dolphins being comfortable with all the interactions. I was so impressed with how respectful and kind the staff were to the dolphins.
Our group worked with Fiji and Bella. Bella was so sweet and special, and Fiji was my favorite (don’t tell Bella!). Fiji brought me a leaf from the surface of the tank and I even brought it home.
This was hands down the most special experience on our trip and is something I will never forget. I highly recommend making the time to be a part of their mission and education. And when you go, tell Fiji hello for me!

We had such an amazing experience at Island Dolphin Care. We learned so much about the organization and the community it helps. They are open for tours during certain days/times and the dolphin experience is like no other that we have ever seen.
The tour of the facility and the team led training/education program is something everyone will enjoy. You leave with a better understanding of dolphins, the way they learn and interact with people along with how dolphins help people with rehabilitation therapy.
Meeting the dolphins up close, in small groups, gives everyone a chance to connect directly with the dolphins. Each person in your group will end up loving different dolphins and there might be heated discussions as to why your dolphin is better than other dolphins. I loved Tashi and Grace and Sarah were a close second and third. Others in our group loved Fiji and Squirt but Tashi has them beat (just don’t tell the other dolphins I said that).
Trust me, make Island Dolphin Care your next to-do in Miami. You won’t regret it.

If the Tour is at 11:30, can we come earlier and browse around or do you just arrive, have a tour of one hour then leave Island Dolphin Care?
You can browse in the lobby which has aquariums and a gift shop. Due to insurance and USDA regulations visitors are not able to be outside without a staff person to guide them.
Your tour guide will not rush you and provide all of the time needed to answer all of your questions. The average length of stay is an hour. Please call our office should you have additional questions that were not answered here. We look forward to having you learn more about our programs and dolphin family!

Key largo is an hour from Miami - Can be longer depending on where in Miami you are coming from and the time of day you are traveling. We offer many different programs. I suggest you call and speak with us once you arrive to decide what programs interests you .

Is it ok for Kids of 3 and 5 years old?
Yes they enjoy seeing the dolphins , the aquariums, holding starfish , and other invertebrates- the gift shop is great too 👍

I will be coming into Key Largo July 14-20 with my daughter and granddaughter. My granddaughter will be a freshman at Penn State University as a biology major and has an interest in marine biology. I thnk visiting your center would be valuable to her as well as to me and her mom. Do I need to make reservations and how can I find out more specifics about the Dolphin Care?

Hello I'm intrested in finding out the cost per person. I'm inquiring for my niece (her son has FOP/his muscles turning to bone) and for my husband who suffers from PTSD (Vietnam Veteran) and 100% disabled. I Heard of this center from the movie "The Girl Whose Muscles are Turning to Bone" (Luciana). This is the same condition my great nephew has.
