Very basic. Lake was clean
Could do with doing a bit of maintenance
Zip wiring was expensive and not thrilling

Serene lake which also offers boating, kayaking, zipline etc. Amazing water lilies along the shoreline. Also, tents of Adventure Camp around the lake offer great option to stay. Can be clubbed with visit to Banasura Dam & Tea Museum from Vythiri or Kalpeta during wayanad Holidays..

After visiting Banasagar Dam , we visited Karlad Lake and must say it was worth. As we were group of Families, we opted for bamboo raft ride. It was awesome,best thing we been Gujjus, did 'Garba Dance' on the raft.....haha....it was super fun moment.

Just of the main road on the way to Banasurasagar this small lake is beautiful for boating with water lilies floating birds on the side of lake choice of pedal boat covered rowing boat and a bamboo platform boat

There is not much to write about karlad lake, near kalpetta. Not so great visiting place, we have visited this in the month of Nov-2019. Some boating activity is available there and don't know about zip line is working at that time or not.
If you want to kill the time and nothing else to do, this could be your place.
Better to spend time at other location.

Karlad is a freshwater lake and one of the top tourist spots of Wayanad. We went there mainly for boating as a very few lake offers so much varieties of boating like this !!! Apart from boating you can also enjoy Zip lining, wall climbing and many more activities like this. If you have children with you and are travelling to Wayanad, arrange some times from your schedule for this place.

The water sport such as kayaking, peddle boats are available along with rope travel. Options are available for family travel, couple travel and even single travel.

The lake is a quiet lake less popular with the tourists and therefore less crowded. Boating is available but the highlight is the long zipline across the lake for only Rs. 300.

There is a zipline across the lake that is worth the experience. They tend to tighten your belts a bit hard and then release a bit to make you comfortable. They bring you back in a rowboat after about 4 or 5 people have ziplined. There is also pedal boating in the lake (don't pedal too hard it's a waste of energy :)
There is kayaking as well and bamboo rafting on the lake . The tickets for ziplining and kayaking are a bit expensive but not too much.

If you have enough time to spare and nothing much to do, this could be place to visit. With some many other attractions in Wayanad closed due to court order, we were forced to spend an hour at Karlad. I would say that it was just a waste of time, but ok since that was what we were trying to do.
