‪I joined the club in my late teens coming from nearby Sodertalje to which we had commuted since 1964, but with rising costs for petrol we had to re-think, and the choice fell on Agesta some 10 km fr our house and to which I easily could take my bicycle and deposit my gear. The course is well accessed by with a generous parking lot on both sides of the road and the training facility lies conveniently next to one half. What has changed in years is that the club house and the course' start and finish meet up well. There is a small coffee house which players access, it's unmanned and you serve yourself coffee, tea, hot dogs, sandwiches under a watchful camera and you need sign on what you have taken, and pay at the restaurant in the club house on the second floor. -So, it is a fair system, and you are given that trust under responsibility, we should say!:) Two courses are present - the 18-holer, and a smaller 9-hole-course. You book via computer, I suggest well in advance (from days to weeks), because this is an increasingly popular course - which before easily had 1,000 player-movements over a weekend, and it may result in that you have to take people on, into your flight - making it four(4). We, seasoned players, two, if left undisturbed to have our rythm without waiting, and adding being well-trained make it in less than 3 hrs, but at competition you should plan 5...a real drag... The course has seen many changes over the past 20 years with grass tees everywhere, much larger greens and it is a great miracle to see that the green keeper and others, manage to keep the field in order despite our climate being in northern Europe which should not as easily allow this, but it is a feat! Well-done! When we were there we saw the bunkers in excellent, well-raked condition despite a late afternoon, with players in abundance. There were divots, but they seem to still have the discipline, but we shall also remember the toughness of the grass in combination with a hard body underneath, clay, that is very sturdy. In my opinion as we are not playing on so called Florida-grass, as I perceive it, the grass does not yield much, and thus should be kept longer to allow elasticity. All of us are not professional, though we both have played more than 40 years, and this causes most of us to clip the ball from underneath with ease, and when wet - not much easier, so I tend to play irons over any fairway woods, so imagine for older players, those who play shorter - it is a handicap and has always been!:). The course itself, I like because it the holes have some distance in them, it can be hilly, the greens can be tricky leaning in all directions or being hard to accommodate the large movement. When we came the tees had been done over making holes to allow oxygen to the root systems, sometimes adding in sand and seeds, but not at this time. A few new water hazards have been introduced, especially aggravating to find on hole no.1 which is far from ideal when players, rusty, set off on a course that does not allow much alternative on its left - so of course I went in on a perfectly good shot!:) Finally even with a kiosque present, bring some food in your bag, there are water fawcets here an there, but you need energy and to start eating before you get tired, so start eating 3 holes before the need so you never fail in concentration! And on a hot day with 35 C - plenty of water with~! Enjoy a nice day on this natural course and come again! Pay and play has been introduced too - so it should facilitate and on Hole 19 a good restaurant is to behold with very charming staff who also may serve you a Cappuccino and a good steak! Welcome to Agesta - my childhood friend!:)‬

‪A family visit, mother and son (both well over over their teens) golf with coffees and sausages after 9-holes/18, self-service coffee shop (paying later in the Club House bar), fully running restaurant with bar (alcoholic beverages) and a good course, no waiting this time! With access to carts for rent (pensioners less), we found the greens of top level for so late in the season (mid September), they could take a beating (club has 1300 members and a huge rise in visiting gofers), fairways immaculate with very little of damage fr clubs, but tricky new fairways (visited 5-10 years ago), high-class tees and beautiful landscaping. If any negative the huge distance to walk on one tee, somewhere near Hole no 7? - were the old Holes 15/16 - a Scandal! Very tiresome for pensioners hard enough to walk already pulling a wagon behind. Most kind and accommodating receptionist, great restaurant chef and manager...general friendliness . Good driving range where you pay by Payment card or one club related. Plenty of space also when raining (under roof).‬
