‪Visited here on the way back from the beach. I highly recommend drenching you drench yourself with bug spray. The trails aren’t marked distance wise but they are marked. It’s pretty but I didn’t see much wildlife .‬

‪We’ve been coming to Cocoa Beach for 15 years, and had driven by this park many, many times. We finally decided to stop and check it out today and we’re glad we did.

There’s nothing mind-blowing here. Just a nice little, primitive park with some easy walking trails, beautiful vegetation, lots of lizards and a pretty little pond.

It was nice to just stroll around this peaceful little preserve on a beautiful Florida day. Well worth a 1/2 hour stop.

‪Once you find this little park you will come back. Different little trails surrounding water and wild life. Wish our community would do something like this. You can walk your pet, but please pick up after them so not to ruin it for others.‬

‪The web site provides times for guided tours which are well worth taking. Our guide was knowledgable and identified many plants that I had only known the names of and she gave us a lot of local environmental history. Few bugs except for a few very wet places where we did not linger. It had been rainy and the guide got there early and informed us that the path was washed out near the lagoon, but if we had wanted to brave it, she would have led the way. It was a small group so we got a lot of personal attention. Although I do a lot of hiking new areas on my own, I would certainly take this tour again.‬

‪ It's right on A1A. If you don't look for paved parking you'll find it easily with Google maps. Pull off into a grass parking area. There's also no building, just a billboard about the history and habitat. It's pretty primitive, but the trail is fairly well-maintained and very clearly marked. Most of the trail is under canopy. It's very beautiful. We saw butterflies and heard a lot of small creatures getting out of our way. The path is not stroller-friendly and I'd hesitate to bring kids much under 10, they'd most likely be bored unless they're very into walking/hiking/outdoors. The bugs were not bad at first but got worse the closer we got to the river. DEET a must for an enjoyable walk! I'd also recommend closed-toed shoes. Expect a little mud, too. We didn't complete the loop, because we're old, fat, and out of shape, but we really enjoyed the part we did do!‬

‪Off the beaten path but very accessible. A variety of different biomes and a nice little outlook on the river at the end of the path‬

‪Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon, the Maritime Hammock is like a very quick trip to a dense jungle. It's a very cool hike mostly under dense foliage but with a couple of spots where the hammock opens up to small ponds where alligators can sometimes be spotted warming in the winter sun. This is a walk best done in winter months as the mosquitos and no see 'ums can be quite vicious in summer. Of course, that wouldn't be a problem if the Environmentally Endangered Lands authority would permit riding bicycles, which they rather inexplicably forbid. Go figure.‬

‪Small but packed with birds, butterflies and flora. Its a stroll not a hike and about 1/2 under the canopy of trees. Very nice little diversion from the beach. I parked at Dennys.‬

‪Very nice, well worth the effort. Excellent trail with unique things to see along the way. Take a dip in the ocean afterwards across the street.‬

‪Make sure to wear lots of bug spray. 2.5 hike, 75% covered hiking. Very very green. Pretty flowers. Tiny parking right off A1A. Hidden gem!‬
