‪We came upon this museum ass it was close to where we were staying. Although it is small it is full of interesting exhibits and information. We loved looking at all the old photos. The best part for us was the rail carriages outside. The caboose provided an authentic insight and the the Bar carriage was beautifully restored.
This museum offers an enjoyable couple of hours for any age of rail enthusiast or fan.‬

‪Friendly staff and neat activities for children (scavenger hunts etc.). Most importantly, I love the information presented. Nice that Seaboard caboose out in the yard is air conditioned‬

‪Surprise great little museum. Local history, history of train line, not big but part of the free museum program of Collier County. This is a great visit, at time we went also had a small car display. I was surprised and left happy we stopped. Right by downtown 5th Ave. they have an old train car to walk through on site. Kids can be entertained for a few minutes or adults can read through history of the area.‬

‪Air conditioned, free, and spotless! Even the train is air conditioned! This was an unexpected surprise because so much of the history of Naples and the Everglades is highlighted here. We learned about the Seminoles, the early pioneers, and the visionaries that brought Naples into the beautiful city it is today. The is also a great place for a rest stop on your walk, the bathrooms were spotless! ‬

‪What a nice little museum. All sorts of local historical items, and many rail road items. Everything is wheelchair accessible, except the rail cars out back, which are worth seeing. They can't help this issue, the cars are old, and made well before these things were a consideration. The staff is very helpful, and this is a nice stop for a rainy day‬

‪Located in the original Naples Train Depot, the museum houses not only railroad history of the area but essentially a historical retrospective of Naples as a city. Especially enjoyed the displays on the evolution of aviation in Naples. There are several restored railroad cars that are open to explore.‬

‪We visited the museum in October and endorse all the positive reviews. This is one of five museums in the Collier Count system. All are free admission, though they cheerfully accept donations. The building is the original depot from around 1920, well restored. History of the area from prehistoric times to the present is covered, in a very professional manner; one of the best local museums we have ever seen.
Note that the Naples Train Museum, a separate operation, is a tenant in one end of the county-owned building and not a part of the Depot Museum. It features a very large and detailed indoor model train array, room-sized, with trains running, quite popular with children, among others. Visitors arriving by car through the main entrance see a sign "Enter Here" which leads to the Naples Train Museum, which charges $7.00 admission. Once inside, we discovered our mistake, as did others we spoke to. The entrance to the Depot Museum is at the right end of the building.‬

‪Visited the Depot Museum on a rainy afternoon. Really glad that we did. This attraction is free, but you can give a donation. The museum is really wonderful with lots to see and learn. It is self guided, but plenty of written information along the way. They also have a mini train for the children to ride and a passenger car in the back that you can go in. Worth the time to take a look.‬

‪Interesting museum that initially centers on the history of trains and how train s affected Naples development. But the museum goes much further exploring the settlement of Naples and historic facts including the Naples Pier the beginnings of the winter migration of Northerners to this paradise. There is no charge and informed volunteers will get you started on your exploration which includes a historic train you can visit outside but the rest is all indoors and appropriate for those days you rather not be outdoors. This museum should take a minimum of 2 hours and next to this museum is a "Lionel Train museum" not related to the Depot Museum. The Lionel train museum does have a charge of $7 for adults, free for children and includes a ride around the parking lot on a model train.‬
