Tour guides went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful tour and a knowledgeable experience! They knew a lot about not only the tour but the animals, other parks and other random facts about Disney World! They take some great pictures throughout the tour and the food provided was very good!

I hadn't heard of this experience before my mum mentioned wanted to go on it for our recent trip, I'm am amateur photographer and loved the idea or being able the get up close with some of the animals and get to see a different perspective to normal animal Kingdom safari.
The experience was 100% worth it and I would recommend to anyone who loves animals. The food was fantastic. Our guides Kit and Daniel were so friendly and knowledgeable about the animals we saw.
I absolutely love the photos they took of us too. 😍

This tour was amazing. Our guides, Daniel and Alex were awesome. Also Hanna, our truck driver and all of the others working on this tour were just as great. It's a behind of the scenes tour of the Africa Safari Ride. We were outfitted with vests that would eventually be used for safety and attached to a line. We walked through the forest stopping first overlooking the hippos. We learned a lot about the hippos while one of the guides fed them some lettuce. After this, came the most exciting part. We walked across two wooden bridges with planks missing. The second bridge went directly over the crocodiles! The guides are very diligent in checking everyones harness and keeping everyone safe. Next we boarded our own truck and drove through the savana stopping at varous places to see animals and learn about them. We then were able to get our snack which was actually a delicious assortment of delicacies and a full meal. While eating, the giraffes came close by.
It was a great day.

Did the trek with my wife and two teens. They spend a ton of time of safety. You get to go over a bridge while snapped into a safety line. It was quick, nothing crazy. Good lunch (African cuisine). If you have picky eaters with you, they won't like.
About half of the time you ride around the savanna like the other tours, but yours is a little more personalized.
My wife really like it. I was more "it was just okay." For the cost, I won't do it again.

Dit was echt een geweldige uitstap. Het hoogtepunt van onze reis naar Disneyworld. Animal Kingdom was mijn favoriete park en deze tour het favoriete onderdeel. Gewoon geweldig om je even VIP te kunnen voelen! In kleine groep, achter de schermen en een idyllische picknick midden tussen de dieren! Ik kan hier niet positief genoeg over zijn, als je naar Disneyworld gaat dan moet je dit zeker ook doen!

An absolute highlight of my Disney trip and easily one of the best things Animal Kingdom has to offer... and for what it includes, it's also reasonably priced.
This is basically a VIP version of the Kilimanjaro Safari attraction, spread over three hours and including delicious food, amazing guides and a load of pictures
The trip starts with getting strapped into a harness which will later help you avoid being eaten or falling to your death. From there you get close ( but not too close ) encounters with hippos and crocodiles, brave a seemingly rickety rope bridge straight out of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, take a leisurely drive across the savannah and then enjoy a platter selection of tasty Africa inspired foods in a private area with stunning views across the grasslands. As a bonus, you also get an exclusive water bottle and name badge to keep, plus a tonne of photos of the entire experience uploaded directly into the app for you to download and keep.
Our guides Paula and Ali were amazing and made a terrific experience even better.
Definitely worth doing but book early, there only up to 12 places per tour and it fills up fast.

What an amazing adventure at Animal Kingdom! Jason and Jenny were excellent tour guides! The animal facts, behind the scenes tour, inside scoop stories, food and overall experience was outstanding! My boys had the time of their lives. Would definitely do it again.

Wonderful up-close experience like on a real safari! Our quides were excellent; knowledgeable, patient, and extremely safety conscious. Walking across the rope bridges was a special experience!

This was a lot of fun for all ages. We enjoyed seeing all the different animals so close to us. It was amazing and exciting to see animals without cages.

This experience is fairly new to Animal Kingdom and the Disney staff have got their presentation act as close perfect as one could wish for. With the highest priority on safety they guide you round the Africa section ensuring you are catered for whether as a single visitor or party of 2, 3 & 4.

Hi, Diane. What would you like to know about this attraction? If you're drinking all that water, what happens if you have to go to restroom? lol

There is not a restroom until about 2 hours in. There really is no way to turn back or go ahead of the group. Might not want to do this tour if you have an overactive bladder or are nervous about this type of situation.

We are booked on the trek in July, will we be ok with the heat and humidity. It's a 10:30 tour.

The trek is in the savannah so there's some shade from the trees and you'll be on grass. It will likely be a little cooler than it would be in the regular park as you won't be standing on hot asphalt. You will also be given a water bottle to take along with you.

Go first thing in the morning. You arrive before the Park opens, so you have a chance to see the Park with no one else there, as you walk to the Tour site. A rare opportunity for peace and quiet in a Disney Park,The animals are roaming more freely as the Adventure Ride is just staring for the day.
It is still early when you complete the tour, so stay and tour the other exhibits/rides.

Hi! My boyfriend is in love with Gorillas. He thinks they are the coolest things ever so I've been looking for a cool gorilla encounter we could possibly do. Does the trek provide you with any up-close/extra experience with the gorillas? Or is it the same as what you can do without paying extra?

No. The gorillas are on a separate trail from the one used for the trek, which covers the animals that can be seen on the Safari ride.
