9 people for a Christmas party... all I can say is outstanding!! The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the staff were superb. Definitely recommend for an enjoyable evening.

Attended a party with families and children. I was with my 15 year old daughter and her friend of the same age. We were the first to arrive and two other people with young children came in a few minutes later. I ordered 3 non alcoholic drinks as I was driving and the girls obviously under age. A few minutes after we sat down, the owner marched up to our table and addressing my 15 uear old directly demanded to search her bag. My girl answered that she did not have a bag. The owner insisted that she had seen my daughter lean down and put a bottle in her bag! Her attitude was agressive and confrontational. At this point I stood up and reiterated that my girl had no bag, we had no alcoholic drinks at the table and that my daughter was 15. She then admitted that she must have been mistaken but also added that she wpuld keep her eye on my daughter! This was all at 7pm in a fully lit room with 2 other people in the room!
The venue lacked any atmosphere and the tatty old bench seats smelled bad. One of the bar staff was constantly vaping behind the bar. Would not recommend and would never return.

We held our christening party at Spatz/Sherwoods, and it was a perfect venue. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced and a great space for a party! Thank you!

booked party, owner cancelled last minute with no warning! Received none of our money back although the cancellation was due to the owner himself.... don’t risk losing your money , also major safety issues as part of the roof caved in when visiting the venue... AWFUL!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

I visited sherwoods for a christening party. The drinks were reasonably priced, the staff friendly and the room clean. Have held two birthday parties here in the past and attended parties since. Would definitely recommend to hire out.

We enjoyed a well prepared and tasty Sunday lunch for a very reasonable price. Prawn cocktail with a generous portion of prawns for Angie and a good-sized plate of deep fried mushrooms for me was followed by a huge main course of turkey, roast, new and mashed potatoes, carrots, cabbage (which was cooked perfectly) and cauliflower, stuffing, a yorkshire pudding and gravy. Delicious!
And to finish - treacle sponge, as light as a feather with plenty of custard.
A longish walk afterwards was needed!

As you entered you could smell that the open plan old fashion hall with tables plonked around was recently cleaned with a lot of bleach which i suppose is a good sign that they like to keep the old fashioned establishment clean thumbs up for that. So we had a groupon deal for £17.99 that got 2 of us 3 course meal and a drink so thats reasonable i guess. The starter came mushrooms in breadcrumbs and pate. The mushrooms were very large and very tasty however the toast for the pate was buttered heavily and the top went soggy. NOT GOOD TO SPREAD THE PATE ON. The sunday lunch was edible with a nice portion of vegetable desert was basic the custard you could tell was just add water the jam rolly polly was nice though. Worth a visit if u like a cheep and slightly cheerful sunday lunch. I however wont be traveling on a 72 mile journey to visit this establishement again.

Went on a groupon offer and have to say it was a very good sunday lunch. Not sure that an awful lots is made / cooked on site and I'd give the starter a miss if paying full price but we would go back. The service was excellent, the main course was really good & tasty and there was plenty of veg with a generous portion of meat.

My Husband & I had a three course Sunday Lunch here last Sunday and the food was lovely. Starter, main roast and the dessert were all tasty & value for money prices!

i boked the venue for my daughters wedding Feburay 2016 we opted for downstairs as we had wheelchair users nothing was to much trouble for the staff they made sure that there was a parking space outside for the wheelchair user the staff made coffe for us when they didn,t have to the toilets were spotless and the bar staff were amazing we done our own buffet and the staff even clered the left overs away thank you it was a brill venue and the staff were good
