The staff at Bay Rays was extremely helpful - I hadn’t driven a boat for a while. We booked a pontoon for 3 hours and enjoyed every second! Saw dolphins and sea turtles - and beautiful St Augustine from the water!

We rented a boat from Bay Ray about two years ago, and had another great experience today. The boats are big and comfortable, perfect for the waters here. We got friendly service and expert support. There's nothing like seeing St. Augustine and environs from the water, and Bay Ray does an excellent all-around job.

Highly recommend Bay Ray Boat rentals. Prices are affordable, they are flexible to work with, and provide a great overall experience. We had an awesome day on the water and will definitely use Bay Ray boat rentals for all future trips.

My family from non-water states :) were in town for the Thanksgiving weekend. We rented a pontoon boat from Bay Ray's for 4 hours to cruise the rivers in St. Augustine. What a great time we had. Oliver at Bay Ray's was great. Very helpful in discussing the sandbars and the boats provided a map that showed you the clearly marked channel markers so you could safely travel up and down the river. We saw the fort reenactment from the water (best seat in the house), saw the Lion's Bridge up close, a family pod of dolphins playing, a manatee at the dock at the lighthouse and countless sea turtles. The fuel cost us a little over $20 for the afternoon ride and the security of having Bay Ray's within distance was peace of mind. The checking in process takes about 20 minutes with the training, map review but the staff hauls all of your stuff over to the boat for you and gets you off and sightseeing. They meet you at the same spot and drive you over to the refueling station. Very very easy way to spend some time on the water, whether you are boat experienced or not.

Our family of 8, including a small child, rented a pontoon. We were given great attention and instruction. My husband is very familiar with boating and navigation, so we felt at ease.
Richard and Oliver were so friendly and accommodating and covered all of their bases!
We would def rent from this business again!

We rented a 24' pontoon boar for 4 hours. The check-in process was painless, and for renters born before 1986, there is no CG course or licensing needed. The dock is near the office, and a company rep helps you load the boat and provides orientation. Free parking next to the dock is available.
The boat was in nearly new condition. It was an upgraded version that you would not expect at a rental operation. The boat performed flawlessly. It had a fairly high-powered outboard that was capable of speeds for towing a tube. The boat also came with radar/depth finder. The seats were plush, it had a sound system and canopy for shade
Recommend you rent at or near high tide. The Matanzas River has a lot of sand bars and shallow areas, so you must be careful at low tide. With that said, boating in the Matanzas is a lot of fun, especially in such a nice boat.
Considering what you get, the price is reasonable. Go on a weekday and get the discount - $295 plus gas.
Bay Ray Boat Rentals is a great option for a family visiting the area or for a local who does not want the bother and expense of owning a boat. We stopped at a beach and had a great time - even with small children.
I will be back to Bay Rental - they are a first class operation!

The people here are super friendly and helpful. the boats were really good. We got a 21 ft (or close to that size I think, cant remember exactly) deck boat. It was awesome. they have other types of boats too like pontoons. The people there are super friendly. Prices were right in line, but considering the service, cleanliness of the boats, etc. great value. We saw dolphins,sea turtles, Castillo San Marcos, and lots more. If your in the area looking for something to do. This is it.

We have rented from Bay Ray for several years now.....we are a large group, parents and kids. Great times every single time. Thanks Bay Ray for helping our group make great memories that will last all a lifetime.

Nice folks rent pontoon and deck boats for half (4-hour) or whole days. Weekday prices are cheaper: $295/half plus gas. If you don't know the waters, stick to the channel that's pretty clearly marked. Cruising up (north) the Intracoastal is pretty easy. Going south into St. Augustine is a little trickier because there are several channels into marinas and the port itself. It easy to misread which channel each marker goes with and you end up out of the channel. There are lots of sandbars. No worries though. You can just get out in 1-2 feet of water and push out into deeper water to restart the engine. Bay Ray supplies fishing gear or a tube, as well. Good location from which to debark -- Comachee Island at the foot of the Usina Bridge. The best part is not paying a boat mortgage, storage, insurance, cleaning, etc. Just walk away.

Bay Ray is the best place in town to rent a boat. William (Will) the guy who gets the boats ready is the reason why. He is very helpful & super knowledgable. He told us some places we could dock at and have a drink. I don't know much about boats but he helps you and doesn't make you feel stupid. We come back every year to rent a boat. Stop in and ask for Will, you won't be disappointed!
