‪Great place for natural sponges‬

‪Wonderful natural sponges sold here, with knowledgeable owners. We bought three sponges of varying sizes which cost us $43.85 total. Really pleased with the quality and the natural sponges.‬

‪Don’t go anywhere else‬

‪If you are looking for the best selection and price thus is the place to go. They have a wide selection and the prices are better then anywhere else in the area.

The little video provided great background knowledge and the opportunity to save money.

I would recommend to it a shop over anything in the area.

It was worth the trip. ‬

‪Positive stop, excellent displays, and the movie was very interesting.‬

‪There are many, many different sponges for sale, here, and many displayed with names. Yes, there are many other things for sale here, too. However, there is a small movie theater here, with a looped movie about history and how sponges are gathered and cleaned. We thought it was very interesting. (And I bought a bunch of sponges to take home)‬

‪The sponge factory and tarpon springs area was interesting however not exciting enough to hold everyone's attention consider the heat.It was very touristy and shopping was the main attraction. ‬

‪Where sponges are manufactured?☺‬

‪No, sponges are not manufactured—but they are sold here. As are a ton of other tchotchkes, many of what I purchased (depicted in the accompanying photos). The a/c was excellent on that hot June day, and I lingered a little too long—and purchased more stuff. I wonder if that was the shop owner’s intent☺ Most of the gewgaws are touristy, but I did purchase a few starfish to attach to the lanai wall, where an oversized metal “fish” appears to be floating to the surface.‬

‪Walking in Tarpon Springs ‬

‪We went there to look around . It was very tourist oriented. This should be expected. We left there and walked around. That was great. We saw some very interesting places stopped at a lot of shops. The bakeries were fantastic having authentic Greek pasty’s. It was a nice walk around . I would recommend parking and just walk. ‬

‪Too touristy for me‬

‪This was our third trip to Tarpon Springs and enough is enough. The shops are pricey for the junky quality of merchandise they carry. We had Greek lunch ,nothing that I had not experienced before. The meal was good . I was going to purchase a few cookies from the bakery until I found out how expensive they were. I felt like I was really being overcharged. I purchased some small sponges ,wallked through the town and we left. Plenty of overpriced junk to look at.‬

‪Lots of shops! Lots of sponges! Lots of restaurants! This is mainly a Greek tourist spot so expect lots of Greek food on the menu! Liked this place so much we actually. Went twice!‬

‪One of my Favorite shops here..So many sponges, so many types and sizes.. There is a sponge for everyone and any size you could want.. I never realized I needed or wanted sponges till I came here.. Yep.... I purchased several.. And they have t shirts and all kinds of cute things here..‬
