I knew the music, did not know Stephen Foster wrote all of it. I sang all these songs growing up, Oh, Susanna, Camptown Races, etc. This was a small but well worth it museum. The grounds are beautiful. The bell tower, one of a kind. If you are visiting the north part of Florida you should make time to visit this museum and park.

Beautiful piece of property. Lovely amount of memorabilia. Was surprised by who had donated some of the pianos. Might have to come back during one of the festivals.

This is an interesting place. A huge museum was built to honor the man who wrote what was to become the state song of Florida, even though he lived in NY and PA and never even visited Florida! Interesting hand crafted dioramas depict old Florida and the topics of his songs. There is also a large carillon tower. The tower was hit by lightening, so they are raising money to refurbish the bells. It's a beautiful area, nice place to picnic, and a bit unusual. Enjoy!

We were here for the 67th Annual Florida Folk Festival. This venue has 11 different stages for music, there is history, storytelling, food, arts and crafts vendors, and other information vendors. This is the longest continuously running music festival in the US. This is a fun family event, there are things to do for all ages. There are all kinds of different music going on all day and into the evenings. The cost to attend is reasonable too. This event should be on everyone's bucket list. This festival is held Memorial Day Weekend every year. Friday through Sunday.

Stephen Foster wrote so many folk songs and this place shows stories of his life, love and passion.
On hands exhibits are great to teach your children or grandchildren. They have a gift store and upstairs local artist sell the arts.

This campground has some nice level spots ( gravel), And the park is well-maintained/clean.
As we were here in the middle of the week, there were no activities taking place; however, the craft area might be worth visiting on a weekend. They also have various activities throughout the year that could add to the visit.
We did not try out many of the trails; however, we did find the access to the river for canoe/kayak’s. In fact it’s one of the pullouts for people canoeing down the river. Pretty easy access.
The museum is also worth a visit, it was very informative. I did not realize a lot of the songs I heard growing up were written by Stephen Foster.
Finally, back to the campground, as far as state park bath houses go, this one was pretty nice.It was clean, well-maintained, had good water pressure and temperature control. It even had heat lamps in the shower stalls.
Nice place for an overnight stop, or for a few days stay.

This place tells the story of Stephen Foster and much of the early music in Florida. Wife and I are retired teachers. We loved the place. We would not take our grandkids here. The museum is not interactive enough for the young crowd.

Stephen Foster is a beautiful Florida State Park, essentially at the corner of I-75 and I-10, in White Springs. The campground is as good as any in the USA, with 30a power and clean water at every site, and they are all level. The museum buildings are fascinating, and worth exploring. The "village" has a nice gift shop (with free wifi!) and buildings for interesting artisans. There is a lovely access to the Suwannee River, and trails for hiking and biking.
Unfortunately it appears that the park is being heavily logged, so the longer trail is mostly unavailable. Sad!

On the grounds of the Stephen Foster State Park there is a Museum and a series of shops for local folk artists. The Museum has Stephen Foster Dioramas where each diorama is themed on one of Foster's songs, it was interesting and well done. There was Stephen Foster music playing all the time we were in the Museum.

This is a great place to hold this wonderful music festival. The area is pristine and beautiful. The different areas that the bands play in and the main stage area is great. It is great for walking to each stage and there are golf carts to provide transportation too. The gift shop is wonderful and the food vendors are great. you can have just about anything that you want. There is a beer garden if you want to partake. There are souvenir tents. the staff and volunteers are there to serve and they will help in anyway that they can.
