The company was very efficient and deliver on their word. We booked on Gili-T.
All the meal and transportation were included. It all went flawlessly.
The food was good.
The view was amazing.
The company also help me out in order to return my bag that I had forgotten at the montain lodge.

De afgelopen dagen een prachtige tocht gemaakt met deze tour operator. Het geld zeker waar! Basic maar goed!

We booked at Ary Trekking on Gili Air for 1,5 mln/person for 2 days 1 night. In the morning we left the harbor of Gili Air and went by slow boat to Teluk Kode. A guy with a horsecar brought us to a restaurant (took 4 minutes) where we met with the owner of the company and the other trekkers. We left the restaurant after a decent breakfast and drove for 2 hours to the entrance of the mountain. So far so good.
We started hiking with a group of 4 in total. We were about to met our other trekkers at Pos 2 (they're waiting for us and did the 3 days 2 nights tour). The guy who brought us to Pos 2 was (I think so) an employee of Ary Trekking and was a bit weird. He hit my girlfriend with his empty water bottle, which I discovered afterwards unfortunately. At Pos 2 we met the others, including our guide and porters. The group was very nice, and after the first break with lunch we were about to go to the camping. The porters and the guide were friendly and helpfull, we really respect them cause it's so tough to climb Rinjani everyday. Once we reached to camping after 8 hours of climbing in total, the porters make up your tent and cook diner. Our group was not the only one. I think there were 200 tents and everyone does the same tour (depending on the amount of days of course). We went to 'sleep' around 9, to wake up at 1:40 the next morning to hike the summit and reach the top before sunrise. Sleeping is not easy when you lay on a matras of 1 cm and in a weird position. Until this moment we had no real 'guide talk'. I expect a guide to explain something about the mountain and give me some relevant information. All we heard was times of departing and having breaks. Unfortunate.
Going to the summit was only for half of our group. The other half did not manage it. One of the porters took the guide roll and couldn't speak proper English. After reaching the top we had like 20 or 30 minutes to see the sunrise. Afterwards, we had to go back to the camping to have a breakfast around 9am. Because our tour was only 1 night, our part of the group had to go back to the starting point. We started trekking downhill around 9:45 and reached to end (the starting point) around 3pm. On Gili Air they said, and you might also expect after such a crazy trekking, that there will be a shuttle that brings you directly to the harbor Teluk Kode to take the last boat to the Gili Islands. The last boat departs at 5pm.
But there was no shuttle waiting for us, only a couple of locals and 1 porter that took us to the end. After an hour a pick-up truck arrived and we had to sit in the back. This was pretty fun, but still very uncomfortable after hiking for 12 hours in total. The driver decided to drop off the porter first, so in total it took us 4 hours to reach the harbor. It is 7pm now and no local boats are heading to the Gili Islands these hours. After complaining at the restaurant where we had breakfast, the owner of the restaurant called the owner of Ary Trekking. In the meantime the driver drove us to the harbor where a group of Indonesians was waiting for us. The owner of Ary Trekking was there as well. Their behaviour was pretty anoying. They were making fun of the fact that we will not go to the Gili Islands this day and that we were not on time in the harbor. Our ticket included trasport to your destination, so we expected a proper solution. After being connected to two other tourists, they decided to rent a very expensive speedboat that bring us to the Gili Islands. It's around 7:30pm right now. The owner of the company paid for it, but he did not ask us anything. He did not care about what we thought of the tour, how it was possible that we arrived that late and I could not find any interest in his face about our experiences.
Every tour operators brings you to the summit. That's no issue. The differences between operators will be reflected in the amount of service and care. If you don't give a sh*t about service and organisation, then Ary Trekking is perfect for you. I you want to climb the Rinjani and expect a good organisation, then choose a more expensive one. I would not choose the same one.

Bonjour,

I can not recommend choosing this company. Our guid was lazy and not helpful at all. He did not even come up the summit with us the second morning (his excuse was a weak leg haha) but instead he sent an 16 years old porter and took the chance to go back down with some people of our groop who wanted to finish a day earlyer.
From then one we were doing the trek with two porters (16 an 17 years old!!!) who did not speak english. Lucky enough for us we met other guides who could help us with the communication. After all we were really thankful for the boys. They did a great job carrying all our stuff. But the company and our guid were dissapointing.
Also the food of other company seemed much better.
On day we walked for 10 hours and for lunch we just had a vegetable soup. No carbs. That was hardly enough.
The nature it self is beautiful. Great scenery. But be aware that there are a few houndred people trekking everyday. So it is very touristy and crowded.
Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish lying around everywhere. Many guids and porters leave it just behind.
Be aware that the trek is tough. But if you have a strong will and are a bit sporty you will do it :)
So to conclude I can reccomend doing the trek if you are looking for a sporty experience with beautiful scenery. If you are looking for less croweds and rubbish you wont be satisfied.
Anyway I would give it a try.
But better choose a different company with good reviews ;)

We had a guide named Yo. Our group was nice but when somebody asked to the agency whether there were jackets available, they said yes but in the end there were none. He had to ask 4 times (day before and day itself) for a jacket and luckely got one. But if he hadn't urged, he would have had freezing cold once getting up the mountain.
Also, the guide took advantage of people getting tired. He said he knew a short way to senaru. Instead of 3 to 4 hours, we did up to 7 to 8 hours (double of the promised time!) and we had to walk 2,5hrs in a jungle full of mosquito's and spiders and god knows whatever other animals. He was lyibg to us all the time, and eventually he admitted that he had NEVER taken this road before. His English was really poor. We were 4 left in the group, and 2 of them (a couple) got lost in the woods and the guide was not guiding them. Once arrived in a town Torean, he eventually wanted to go back with us by car. We urged him to wait for the lost couple. We called Ary Trekking agency to warn them that there was a couple lost in the woods but even they didn't care enough about this info. Very weird experience, the first day was actually a really good experience for us because we made it to the summit (we almost didn't see our guide during the hile), but then the second day we got lost and it ruined our trip. Not to mention that it was very very dangerous!!!! So watch out with this company.

The trip to the summit is very good in itself. Beautiful sunrise. One thing I encourage you to bring up with your guide though: Make sure to point out how incredibly much waste there is on the mountain. Hopefully this will raise some awareness, cause it's really a mess. Also; this is a very hard trip. Bring some energybars.
We were unfortunate to end up with a guide from Ary Trekking nicknamed "Moose". Might very well be the same "Moose" as username "Radar G" describes in her review from July 25, 2015.
This is a very bad guide who is more interested in trying to meet girls than doing his job. Even though 5 of the 9 tourists in the group were originally supposed to do a 3Days2Nights trip, the whole group ended up doing 2Days1Night even though not everybody agreed. Some of the 5 were tiered after reaching the summit and had to get down. "Moose" saw this as an opportunity to get himself a day off so after some back and forth the whole group went down. He speaks poor english and is generally no help.
