We visited the Center on a weekend. There are a number of nice walking paths of varying levels of difficulty. There is a treetops course that the younger ones enjoyed very much. The environmental/heritage display was relatively extensive. However, the display managed to go from when native peoples inhabited the land, to when they were met by Europeans, to the modern day, without once mentioning the enslaved people who worked the land for hundreds of years—shameful.

Recently brought my grandson here to see the dinosaurs and he was thrilled. The exhibit inside is exceptional. So much to do. Let’s not forget to walking trail for all. Going again soon.

Clean trails with bills and options for wooded paths. Beautiful museum and historic home as well. This is going to be a new regular stop for us.

I signed up for one of their evening events so we’d have something different for us to do. I was thoroughly surprised in going there. It was very well organized between the indoor and outdoor activities (guided tours and even campfire stories). The staff had sections along the way where they dressed up in character and discussed their inventions and contributions throughout history. There were interactive stations for the children to participate and learn. My favorite was identifying the gemstones and also the guided tour through your senses. That was truly fun and a bit scary because we were blindfolded. But to top it off, there were bio cards there so later the children can look back and continue their learning and love for environmental science.

Not far from the Mall of Georgia area, but offers you a break from the shopping and traffic. Lots of parking and the building on the property looked very well taken care of; heard it is a popular venue for weddings. The trail is nicely paved and if you keep an eye out, you’ll find dinosaurs on your walk. The path eventually hooks up with the Ivy Creek Greenway which is another great walking trail to check out. Couldn’t actually visit the inside of the center due to having my dog with me.

It was a bit pricey and somewhat terrifying but we had a blast. Active, outdoors fun with excellent practice in anxiety management and safety procedures, plus lovely views of the forest, floor to canopy. The Center's building was very interesting and it had a nice gift shop. Enjoyed the walking trails too and all the educational exhibits.

Somehow we missed this trail around the Heritage Center! It's a short hike (only about a mile in length) from the center. There are about 6-7 BIG dinosaurs along the walking path. (Don't miss the dino on the roof of the center!) You can stick to the paved path or take a little side trail loop into the forest. VERY family friendly! We went with our 4 year old who loved spotting them in the woods.
You can also take off on another trail that takes you to the wildlife center behind the Mall of Georgia. This trail makes the route much longer but it was fun and we saw deer eating right by the trail. This trail is also a bike route! The connecting trail is paved but the wildlife trail is not (but still bike friendly).
The center has other trails to take from the parking lot. Lots of trails that we had missed at our earlier visits to the center.
You can also take off on another trail that takes you to the wildlife center behind the Mall of Georgia. This trail makes the route much longer but it was fun and we saw deer eating right by the trail. This trail is also a bike route! The connecting trail is paved but the wildlife trail is not (but still bike friendly).

I went there to enjoy some beautiful scenery, and shade from the hot Georgia sun. The trail is beautiful and my kids and I had a great , long hike.

Went for a girl scout event and was so pleased with this facility. Have lived in this area for 20 years and never knew this was here. Grand kids loved it. Hands-on museum was a hit, the event areas were large, clean and well-suited for this event. Staff was friendly. Didn't experience the walking paths as event was all inside. Will go back for sure.

There are several trails to choose from, making it easier to bring kids (even young little ones in strollers) for a nice long walk through nature. The center itself if really interesting, but closes early. We love to visit and the ziplining is alot of fun!
