We stopped in to Chateau Coupe - Roses simply because we were passing by and they appeared to be open. Not many wineries were open for the season yet, so we were excited to find one that was. As it turned out, we barged in on a private club tasting! We could tell by the reaction that we probably weren't supposed to be there so we apologized and started backing out the door. However, the people behind the bar asked us to come in and said we were welcome to stay and taste, we were hesitant but they insisted we were welcome so we went in. We've been to a lot of wineries in a lot of places, and I can tell you that this is unique. Walking into a private tasting in most places will get you politely escorted right back out, and when you consider what some people pay for those private tastings, that's justifiable.
As it turned out we were provided our own personal tasting of Chateau Coupe-Roses' lineup by Sarah, who was very nice and exceptionally knowledgable about the wines her family produces. Her and her brother adhere to the traditional processes followed in their family for 400 years, but they are also stepping outside the lines a bit and offering some more modern takes on what their grapes have to offer. All of the wine was very good, but we were most impressed by Karst, a robust field blend that represents somewhat of a new direction for the wine makers.
We were thrilled to discover that Chateau Coupe-Roses products are available in the states, so we'll be looking here until we can return...hopefully when they're actually open. :)

Allez y les yeux fermés, les vins sont vraiment un délice pour les amateurs, L'accueil y est très chaleureux et écouter Sarah raconter ses vins avec passion est un moment de bonheur et de partage.

So we go get our cases of wine every time we go to Minervois! The purple and black label are the best.

Très bien reçu, de très bons vins (pour tous les gouts) et une petite histoire en prime à chaque nouveau vin dégusté.

Great place to taste some local wine. All their wine is Bio; you can also see some local art work. Their wine range from 6 to 20 a bottle and honestly their 6€ is better then some of the more expensive wine

Françoise et Pascal Frissant nous ont ouvert les portes de leur vaste cellier pour une dégustation complète de leurs vins, pour notre plus grand plaisir ! Petit plus : les expositions d'artistes locaux (peintures, sculptures, poteries) dans la pièce principale, créant une atmosphère toute particulière et originale. On recommande les délicieux Minervois Blanc et le Granaxa ;)
