‪It's always good to start at a visitor center when someplace new but they are not all good. This one was excellent and very helpful. The lady there went out of her way to get the information we needed.‬

‪First visit to Helen GA. Arrived on Monday stayed overnight. Staff was friendly. There is no on street parking. Very few handicapped spaces. $10 a day for parking is a bit much.‬

‪I had wanted to visit here for a long time but it was just not what I was hoping for. The town is very cute but shops were just cheap and low class- mostly T shirt stores and tacky trinkets. Plenty of bars though if you’re there to drink. We had teenagers with us so we’re looking for something more wholesome- this was not it. We only made it through half the stores and gave up. The only fun part was watching the hundreds of tubers going down the river. Other than that I can not recommend this place.‬

‪Make this your first stop in Helen‬

‪This is a good place to start if you have never been to Helen before, staff is very friendly and willing to help. Gives you a feel of the area, and has good resources and pamphlets. Good and enjoyable stop‬

‪Great place to start‬

‪Came to Helen for a weekend trip and stopped in to get some local information. The attendant was informative and very helpful. Make sure you see her for a city map and coupons. ‬

‪The staff member who helped us was very knowledgable about the town and very patient with our many questions. She shared maps and coupons with us. I would recommend making this your first stop in Helen!‬

‪A Touch of Bavaria in Georgia‬

‪What a great little town. Like it was moved here as-is from Bavaria. Enjoying a couple of days here checking out the town, shops, restaurants, etc. You have to try some of the authentic German food in some of the specialized eateries. Lots to see and do... Recommend.‬

‪Fake Town‬

‪There is absolutely nothing real about this place. It's as fake as a Hollywood studio. But their cops are just waiting to give out tickets and all their food and junk is overpriced. There is not much there to see in town. The best activities are actually outside of town for things like tubing and ziplining. The town itself is starting to look worn down.‬
