Plus un vide grenier que des puces.
Sauf miracle, peu de chance de faire une trouvaille intéressante .
Mais ça peut être l'occasion d'une balade dans un marché sans touriste au milieu d'un public très populaire dans une zone plutôt industrielle.

Un peu en périphérie du loop, un petit marché aux puces où se côtoient vide greniers et détaillants spécialisés. On peut y trouver son bonheur si on aime les stands de nourriture mexicaine, préparée sur place et semblant être appréciée au vue des files d'attente. Permet de quitter un peu le centre et de voir autre chose, mais ce n'est pas un incontournable.

If you are visiting/vacationing in Chicago, this is not going to be worth your time visiting! We took a train out near this location on 10/6/2019 and walked to the market. The area does not appear to be a safe area to be walking in (missing car tires, many homeless people). When we go tot he market it was all second hand items, flea market style set up, and just mostly junk that majority of tourists wouldn't want to buy nor have room to carry in their luggage. Just my opinion though, it might be a better option for those that actually live here? If you are vacationing, there are PLENTY of other places that you can go see that would be way better than this place. Hope this review helps!

シカゴに滞在中、近くにあるショッピングセンターへ買い物に出かけた際こちらのストリートマーケットへ立ち寄りました。テントが並ぶ会場では色々な品物が売られていたりメキシカンフードやスイーツなど買うことが出来てとても楽しかったです。

We stopped by to see how it had transformed since UIC had taken over its original location. It's a lot of food stalls (Mexican food) and the rest of the vendors are selling flea market junk. The Randolph St market would be a much better alternative.

About four blocks, both sides, of stuff at an off price.
I went after church, encountering a healthy number of shoppers, but no overcrowded conditions.
Well, there was the one sit-down Taco Stand with easily 40 people (for real) in line.
The others had small waits, so authentic food was making sales. Want socks cheap? It's at Maxwell. How about out of code gum, energy bars, cookies, candy? It's there, and it's way cheap. Need used tools? Used bikes? Let your conscience be your guide. Toiletries? Bulk peppers of many kinds? Multiple varieties of nuts? Produce? It's all there and it's a good atmosphere. And room to haggle. I watched while a guy haggled a $3 bicycle helmet down to $2. "For that, he should give me a kiss," I heard the owner shout back to his worker. Laughter followed, but $2 won the day, and the helmet.
In some ways I thought there should be more stands and more customers, providing more kinds of items available, and reflecting the fact of great deals to be had, respectively. If I'd lived here, I'd have to get to the market monthly or more...

Its an experience to do a walk through and see all the different people walking the Chicago streets with each other its not even close to the original maxeell street flea market and store front sales. but its different and thats what makes it special and cool.

Absolutely not worth going out of your way for this. Just secondhand tat. UK full of far better car boot markets every Sat & Sun. yes the tacos are OK but not worth going out of your way for. Very disappointed

The Tacos we had were pretty good but other than that the market has pretty much nothing to offer. There are some vendors selling second hand things but that’s about it. I wouldn’t recommend taking your time to travel there.

When I was a kid we all went to Maxwell street for sort of under the covers kinds of markets. We got all our shoes there at ridiculously low prices= and other stuff that seemed slightly shady. Now its all cleaned up- and its hard to get over losing its seedy character. The whole area is now bars and restaurants, well lit and trendy windows. Its a fun place to walk around but there is nothing aesthetically interesting about the market as it operates now. Lots of people watching and good restaurants around though- its just that history has been effectively wiped out. I guess its progress- but Im not so sure.
