‪A wonderful experience - even better than expected.‬

‪I had been looking forward to this for weeks and when the day came around it was even better than expected.
Once we had signed the forms and were introduced to our wonderful guide Bailey we were led to a huge barn, full of happy Clydesdales munching hay. What a sight to behold! We were able to say hello and stroke as many as we could and then it was time to meet who we were riding. I had gorgeous Lucky and my friend on trusty Alfie. After going around the arena to get the feel of the horses, Bailey took us on the most wonderful "farm ride" through beautiful country lanes and wooded parks. We went at a gentle pace but did trot at times.
When the ride was nearly over Bailey asked if we would like to canter in the arena which I immediately said yes to, it just felt so wonderful and exhilarating.
After the ride were very lucky to be shown around the farm to meet the other beautiful Clydesdales plus donkeys, ponies and pigs. And on leaving we got a gift bag with a certificate to keep!
Magi, John, Bailey and the team went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. Thank you so much team Blackstone. I will most certainly be back.‬

‪As a birthday gift, I was enrolled for a dig-a-day experience to experience operating a mini-excavator for 2 hours. The pre-event information was more than adequate and we were welcomed to a most comfortable reception area to meet John who was to be my instructor. Everything was set-up and we were taken to the dig site and, after some initial guidance, I was tasked with digging a hole/trench with a back-hoe. John gave just the right amount of assistance when needed and I was allowed to practice freely. The whole experience was pitched at just the right level in a friendly and constructive way that made it a most enjoyable experience. The visit to the Clydesdales at the end was a nice finish to the morning. Highly recommended.‬

‪An Absolutely Awesome Adventure!‬

‪I have been riding for 62 years, and have owned and ridden many different breeds, but there was just something special and unique about this experience that I will never forget.

Many years ago, I made a "Bucket List" of horse breeds I want to ride before I die, and riding them in the country of their origin is always a bonus! After only being in the saddle for 15 minutes, I knew this was going to be one of my most favorite riding adventures! I have never felt such power beneath me, and I figured out quickly I was riding the boss mare! Lol. I chose to take the rear position, but when it was time to gallop, she went into 5th gear, and passed the other three horses with ease. What a dream! I will never forget the exhilarating power and freedom I felt that day on Bonny Lass, and if you are an experienced and confident rider, you will LOVE the Blackstone beach ride, too! I didn't want the ride to end! If I lived closer, I would definitely take advantage of their "Foster a Horse" program, enjoy getting to know her better, and ride as often as possible.

Afterwards, we went on their walking farm tour and met the rest of their family, (2 and 4 legged), up close and personal. All of their various species of animals were well taken care of, and everyone was so friendly. I love the fact this has been a working family farm since the 1930's, too. It's obvious they love what they do, and I'm so glad they allow others the opportunity to experience a little portion of their Scottish history. Well done, Duncan family!‬

‪Perfect way to start the weekend ‬

‪Had an absolutely brilliant morning's riding on Bonnie. Even the initial rain didn't spoil things. I was well looked after by Abbi and Duchess. Hacking in a lovely route along the riverside and through Dumfries House gardens. It was just perfect. The Clydesdales are so curious and gentle and the staff welcoming and helpful

Would highly recommend ‬

‪Somebody is going to get hurt riding with this stable.‬

‪Let me preface this with--I have ridden for 45 years--and all over the world. Fox hunted, polo, eventing, reining, dressage, driving-you name it. I have been a riding instructor for 25 years. I have a Clydesdale myself that I have evented to novice level. My husband has ridden for 20 and is a strong intermediate-he too has ridden all over the world. This was a dreadful experience. There were three "guests" on the ride (Me, my husband and a Glaswegian named Mindy)-and a very, very young inexperienced guide. The other party in our group had ridden with this company 5 previous times and had never ridden with this person before. I never caught the guide's name--the normal guide is Maddie. The ride started well, horses were in good flesh, feet looked good, sound tack--all systems go until we got to the end of the beach. Our guide had just told my husband that his horse preferred a loose rein-so he was riding on the buckle. As we hit the end of the beach, the guide said "We will turn them into the surf in case they go crazy", we turned and she took off. Zero warning. As one horse does, so do all the horses--our three horses took off. My husband and the other rider were almost unseated. I was the last in the group so was able to shorten the reins and go with it. We galloped down the beach with my husband and the other rider desperately trying to shorten their reins and have some control. My husband got his horse stopped and this time we were way in front of the guide and the other rider---the guide kicked her horse into a gallop and thundered (and I mean thundered--Clydesdales after all) up behind before the other rider and my husband were able to shorten their reins from the first gallop so off they went again. At this point, I told her we were done and were taking the horses back. I had zero problem with the horses and the beach--I had serious problems with the judgment of this young outrider. I immediately contacted the stable owner and received zero response. According to Mindy--the other guide was fantastic on the other rides and explained everything she was going to do--if you get her it would probably be a good experience. If you get the other one--RUN AWAY.‬

‪A perfect experience…‬

‪My daughter gave me this wonderful experience and it was perfect.

The guide was so welcoming, professional and couldn’t do more for us.

The horses were selected according to experience. Gentle giants that were fun yet impeccably behaved.

A beautiful location.. The ride around the estate followed tracks, through woods and fields. Stunning views and even the odd highland cow and deer. Dog friendly walks for those not riding.

The ride was finished off with a goodie bag, certificate and lunch voucher to the Coach House which was also excellent.‬

‪An excellent way to spend a day‬

‪The walking farm tour was excellent. John was very kind and friendly and we could tell he really cares deeply for the animals in his care. We learned a lot about the Clydesdales and highland cows and got to spend lots of time getting up close and getting to know them.‬

‪My Favorite Place!!!‬

‪Our whole family loved everything about this place! The farm is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. All of the animals were so cute and friendly. Our guide was amazing! She helped us feel totally comfortable with the horses, answered all of the questions that we had, and was a great conversationalist while we were riding. The horses were absolutely incredible! They were super friendly, safe, calm, and we all loved riding them so much. I can’t recommend this place enough! It is well worth your time and money to go out of your way to experience the farm.‬

‪A wonderful day for the whole family‬

‪What an experience to be so close to these wonderful animals. The carriage driving was a 70th birthday present and was made all the more special to be shared with the rest of the family. The staff were so friendly and you couldn,t help getting caught up in their enthusiasm to make the day very special I can't wait to get back and do some riding.‬
