Absolutely stunning and extremely relaxing.
Very limited phone reception which is great.
We had a night with a Doctor of asttro physics and he was terrific, very informative.
Cannot recommend this on everyones bucket list to be added so highly.
This time of year there are abundant turtles and females come onto the coral cay of a night to begin their evolution.
Heaps of manta rays, turtles marine life and picturesque coral reefs.
Staff very accomodating and friendly, all meals are well catered for everyones tastes.
Thankyou i will be back.

We can’t recommend this place enough. Saw a ton of manta rays, turtles, fish, coral, sharks, an octopus, eel and sea snake. Coral looked very healthy. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The food was surprisingly good and plentiful. Though we stayed in an eco cabin we never had to wait for a shower or bathroom. Loved the educational component and dedication to the mission of eco tourism. Would go here again in a heartbeat if not halfway around the world.

We did a day trip from Hervey Bay and had a wonderful time. The flight was quick and you get amazing views of Hervey Bay and Lady Elliot Island. There are two main areas to snorkel and one of them is tide dependent. All the gear was supplied by the resort and was in great condition. The water was really clear and we saw loads of fish inside and outside the reef. The glass bottom boat trip and snorkel just off the reef was the highlight with plenty of turtles around. The staff safely supervise the snorkel really well and provide floats for those who need them. The island has abundant bird life which was virtually no fear of us humans which makes for great photos. We even saw an Eagle on the island. The buffet lunch was good with plenty of healthy vegetarian chooses too. Showers and toilets were clean. We wish we had stayed overnight to savor the experience longer. Was great to see waste segregation and plans for the plants of new scrubs to improve the island further.

Lady Elliott in August is amazing! We are a family from the USA who spent 3 days/2 nights there. Splurge for the Reef Units if possible for the sunrise view and lagoon snorkeling outside your door. We wish we'd stayed 3 nights.
Details:
We saw extensive marine life ---rays, sharks, turtles, etc snorkeling. Our family enjoyed snorkel safaris -boats taking you to areas with marine life but we were also able to see everything but the manta rays while snorkeling on our own around the island. We were fortunate to have great weather and while the water temperature was cold, wetsuits can be rented. (We also brought neoprene gloves, booties and hats which helped and my cold sensitive daughter wore a base layer). We practiced in our local pool before we came since our kids had never snorkeled and you can snorkel the am you arrive.
Our daughters are vegetarian and the buffet options at breakfast and dinner were numerous and delicious. There are some better lunch options at the cafe snack bar.
The room was clean and had a good lay out even though it is compact for 4 people. We were rarely all in the room except to sleep, enjoying the group buildings and our porch/beach area. There are educational programs at night. The night walk to see stars and reptiles was fun even for adults. Our teens enjoyed reef walking and having the run of the island.
The birds were not loud in August and only on our last day did we notice a slight bird odor; i
t had rained before we arrived. The flocks flying around at sunset are beautiful images I will always remember. We all enjoyed "sunset drinks" where the staff set up chairs and offer drinks and snacks on the sunset side.
The staff were all nice and responsive and we appreciated getting in our room soon after arrival. Snack bar can be charged to the room and settled up when you check out which allowed our teens to be on their own schedule.
Flights were well organized and the pilot showed us whales and pods of dolphins from the air. Amazing!

I absolutely loved my time on Lady Elliott Island. The glamping tents had remarkably comfortable beds. gorgeous views, and were overall great accommodation. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. There were far more activities than I was expecting - even if you're not jumping in the water every free minute, there's always something to do (their presentations are always informative and fun, and not too long). Food was good and there was lots to pick from if you're fussy. There are 3 general places to snorkel - the lagoon is the gentlest but also arguably has the most to see (but is only open a few hours a day when the tide is high - take advantage of this time). The other snorkel spots are good (though not great for novices). Staff are always helpful to tell you about tides and best times to go. If the deeper snorkels scare you if you're on your own, sign up for glass bottom boat tours or snorkel safari - they take you out to the deeper areas with staff nearby and boat available if you get tired. Dive staff are great and patient with new learners. I would definitely come back to the island. Only downside: there are lots of small children on the island. Some are behaved, some not. They can hijack presentations and small tours. I wish parents recognized that not everyone finds their little ones as adorable as they do.....

We spent an amazing 3 days at this eco resort. The snorkeling was fun for all ages, with both a shallow side and deeper ocean side. Accommodations were clean and simple, and the food was good. Definitely recommend!

We stayed 3 nights at the resort in November and would love to go back. The location is spectacular and the snorkeling and diving are not to be missed.
We stayed in a garden suite and it was great for us and our 16 year old. The suites are not air conditioned, but there are fans and we never had trouble sleeping (at least due to the heat :) ). It is true that there are lots of birds, so ear plugs (provided by the resort) at night are a good idea. The beds were very comfortable. I’ve attached a photo of our room at check in.
The food was very good and our dietary restrictions (allergies) were easy to accommodate. The staff and guides were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
You can walk out onto the reef during low tide and swim there during high tide (resort posts times daily). On the other side of the island, about a 7 minute walk, there is always snorkeling available, although it is a bit more challenging to get in and out of the water at lower tides. I am not a great snorkeler, but still managed fine and we saw the most amazing things - manta rays, more turtles than we could count, an octopus - all from the beach. We also signed up for the Snorkel Safari (which has an extra charge) and rented wet suits - both totally worth it in my view.
The sunsets are amazing and the resort sets up a bar on the west side of the island, with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. This beach is right by the lighthouse, and if you stand at the base of the lighthouse, you can get some cellular reception. Otherwise, the resort sells WiFi cards you can use in the small departure lounge by the office.
My partner also did one dive and was very impressed. There is also lots of bird watching and beach walking to be done - we found the days passed very quickly and would recommend at least a two night stay.
The stars are also amazing as there is no light pollution at all. We very highly recommend this unique resort.

What a fantastic experience to Lady Elliott Island. We went to Queensland, Australia last December 2017 for our Christmas vacation. We wanted to vist the Great Barrier Reef and fortunately got the opportunity to see it from here. We got to snorkel and saw sea turtles, man of wars, starfish and even an octopus eating a fish. It was a trip to remember

Lady Elliott Island is absolutely amazing. Out on the Great Barrier Reef, there are few places in the world you can go with such immediate access to raw and beautiful nature. The staff is incredible and so are the offerings to take advantage of the location. It is not at all luxurious -- it is basic in every way -- but it has what you need and is clean and you are there to be outside not inside. Absolutely incredible and could not recommend more highly. (Great staff in particular include: Shari, Lauren, Nick, Beca, Bonnie, Trudy, Mary, and Keesha.

We stayed 5 nights at Lady Elliott Island in a Reef Unit. The unit was basic accommodating 4 in double bed and bunk. It was small but clean with comfy beds and a dated but adequate bathroom. A line was supplied on the verandah to dry the wet gear. The unit overlooked the lagoon. Seabirds were nesting, noisy and a bit smelly but what you should expect on a tropical island and we all enjoyed watching the various mating displays.
The lagoon provided good, safe snorkelling in shallow water at high tide. Large variety of fish, eels, rays, sharks(black tipped, harmless) and lots of turtles. On the other side of the island, we were able to snorkel at any time despite the tide. Unfortunately we didn't see any manta rays-a bit late in the season- but did see more turtles, sharks, different fish species and nice coral gardens. A bonus of this island is having a place to snorkel even though it was low tide. Also saw lots of whales passing by the island in the southern migration.
The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Information talks provided lots of information about the island, its history, flora and fauna and were enjoyed by all of us.
The flight out to the island took about 40 minutes. It was a comfortable flight with the opportunity for aerial photos of the island and whale spotting.
