‪New Albany National Cemetery was established in 1862 by President Lincoln when New Albany was a larger city than its neighbor across the Ohio, Louisville. It’s a small federal cemetery that looks like a mini Arlington. The headstones are uniformed like Arlington and spouses of the veterans can be buried with their loved ones.

You can visit from sunrise to sunset daily. The veterans interred here are from the Civil War to the present, although I think they became full within the last years. It’s a nice, quiet, and peaceful place to take a stroll and reflect on those that made so many sacrifices for us. They have special events for days like Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Great place to stop by while in New Albany.‬
