Hello and good morning, yes the Beautiful Basilica is at Notre Dame University, it is near the Golden Dome or Gold Tower walk towards the Golden Dome , it is open I think daily for tours and for visitors. There is guess parking at Notre Dame but you will have to pay unless you have a student or employee pass. The campus is so beautiful it is worth the trip to see both. Have a great day !

Thanks for the responses, no it wasn't a joke question, 😉. I had a friend who was visiting and brought her "baby". I did contact the basilica who shared my assumption that only service dogs were allowed. Thanks for the responses.

In case the parking by Hammes bookstore is full, you can go to Eddy street.

Sue, took care of the entire process. I believe, that while you can certainly visit the Basilica on your own, the docents' knowledge adds a lot to the experience. I also arranged the campus tour thru the Eck Center but felt the Basilica group was more informed and attentive. I am not sure but it is open, you can just walk right in and all around inside. You would need to check online or call them.

Tour.nd.edu will give you all the information you need. And while on campus don't miss the grotto! Is just behind the Basilica.
