‪Its a scenic view point of the waterfall and the valley. Unfortunately, the waterfall is only seen during the monsoon season. We went during the winter time and waterfall had dried up.‬

‪This place is close to Chikhaldara Hill Station and easily accessible by road. It is said that at this place Bhima (Mahabharat) killed Kichaka the brother in law of the ruler king Virat to save his wife Draupadi from him and washed his blood stained hands in this stream. At the moment there is no much water in the stream just a very small flow but a good place to view on the way.‬

‪Romance is Just not among peoples it can be with anything if you talk about a traveler his romance is with Nature, Place, People, Food where ever he goes. Obviously he /she looking to find better Romance or rather in his word we say’s explore better Romantic places…
So here we take you to one of the offbeat Romantic Place blessed with stunning beauty that is diverse and unique at the same time, Maharashtra enjoys mountainous reliefs, cliffs, waterfalls, forests and of course the tall and proud forts that speak of its glorious history. But there is one hidden treasure call Chikhaldara..

It was few years back I got the chance to visit a offbeat tourist place not much have been spoken about this place but believe me it’s a place worthwhile to see its CHIKALDHARA. It is located in Amaravati district of Vidarbha region. The only hill station in the Vidarbha region offers you an abundance of wildlife, viewpoints, lakes and waterfalls. It’s a place something to do with Indian mythology Place is named after "Keechaka". This is the place where Bheema killed villainous Keechaka and threw him into the valley. It thus came to be known as "Keechakadara" - "Chikhaldara" is its corruption.
It’s a place with abundance beauty hidden treasure of flora and fauna magnificent waterfall and gushing water and a sudden velvet mist around makes the place where Romance bloom.
What’s so good about this, you may ask. There are of course plenty of other mountain resorts elsewhere in Maharashtra. There are two main reasons that makes Chikhaldara unique – very few tourists visit this place, and so, you’ll even now, get all the peace and solitude you want, and second, it’s the only place in the state where you’ll find coffee plantations.
There’s certainly something magical about coffee plantations, the aroma of coffee pumps up Romance in you. If you’ve been to one such place, you’ll know. Coffee trees are low lying. They hug the grown below. But all over, you will find tall trees that make the entire place a green paradise.

Places of interest
Places of interest in and around Chikhaldara are the Melghat Tiger Project, Dhakana-Kolkaz National Park, Hurricane Point, Prospect Point, Devi Point, Gavilgad and Narnala Fort, the Pandit Nehru Botanical Gardens, the Tribal Museum and the Semadoh Lake.
The Melghat Tiger Project has 82 tigers, other animals like panthers, sloth bears, sambar, wild bear, and wild dogs.
The scenic beauty of the misty mountains with rich variety of flora could be observed from Hurricane Point, Prospect Point, and Devi Point.1
Excursions to Gavilgad and Narnala Fort are also memorable ones. The mystery of nature unfolds itself in every twists and turns of the hilly way.
Weather/Clothing
Oct - Feb: Cool and crisp. Temp in Dec-Jan Period is well below 10 deg C. Winter Clothing is necessary.
March - Mid June: Warm in day and cool in the evenings. Comfortable summer clothing. But carrying a jacket/shawl is advisable for nights.
July - Sept: Monsoon Time. Carrying rain gear is recommended. Also advisable to carry warm clothing for evening.
Keeping in mind that it is a forest area, wearing bright clothing is not recommended. Earthy/pastel shades are best suited and especially necessary for the wild-life Safari.
